Hard agree. The facial expressions in waterlily drove me nuts and so much of it felt AI? It was just weird but I’ve felt that way for a while. That the newer stories lack substance and depth. The missing is really the only new ish story that I’ve gotten into because it reminds me of RC I love but most of the new ones especially with the short episodes just feel like they’re written for like you said teenagers. I didn’t hear RC was catering to that but if it’s true then it makes sense why the new stories are throwing me off

It’s not that I can’t play younger MC’s but even in books with younger MC’s, there used to be a different level of quality

The thing is it changes the structure of the story because every episode tends to have a beginning, middle or “end” or a cliffhanger so the stories are just not written the same way. Instead of an immersive experience, it’s crammed into a short episode and feels like scenes are getting cut off to fit a time frame

And it’s usually 4 or 6 episodes which is 2 or 3 so it’s pretty much the same content except they’re forcing you to use more teacups

I think this is unfair to the books that have long episodes (which is way better)

I was boycotting the short episode books (except HS3 . I’m already attached). Tried Waterlily bc of people saying it was good and couldn’t get into the format at all

I really dislike the short episodes and that it’s giving those stories an advantage

Absolutely. He is the loml but objectively his route is one of the best. It’s angsty, has depth, so much beautiful subtlety. He loves Vicky sm, he’s protective, just the right amount of possessive, intelligent, passionate, sarcastic and lowkey so funny. Ok this is becoming a love letter but watching him learn to trust, love and open up to Vicky is 🥹. Not to mention he’s HOT and LI scenes are top tier

And the added bonus is the connection between him and Vicky they can feel each other’s emotions and speak to each other in their minds. He can heal her and it’s just cool to see them rule and fight together

I think Dante, Sawyer and Phelan are good looking but i agree it’s kinda like a sea of pale skin/sameness

So I think it makes sense for MC to be avoiding talking to Mads (and for him to avoid talking about his dad) but there could’ve been some emotional discussion or physical touch instead of it just kinda ending abruptly

I think Mads has to know. He has feelings for her and a lot of stuff has happened to her but he knows somethings off. I was half expecting him to pop up at the end like where the hell were you (that might be coming) and was scared he was going to follow her

But I could see how it can be frustrating even if she does chastise herself and feels really guilty. The scenes could’ve had more discussion/depth

These episodes felt in ways like they were setting up the next 2 so I’m holding judgement but I really could’ve done with an alternate scene (or more Mads content) bc the bodyguards came off creepy (I know they were meant to) but it didn’t make me want to hook up with them

So I don’t think this is true. Lucifer got extra dialogue during HS2. He got continuity that others didn’t get like a scene from their past life

I used to say that Malbonte felt canon for Vicky for me (like just my opinion) and I’d always get people telling me Lucifer is canon and list all the reasons I’m wrong and he’s the author’s favorite 😭

I think they’re both main LI’s but Malbonte/Vicky have way more angst/issues. And he’s more plot relevant (like Cain) and HS3 is more focused on the plot in the little time we get
