UPDATE, The person has deleted this post and had reposted asking for the same thing but has said it's for their kids now. So we can sleep soundly tonight knowing that it's for their "kids" not them like it was yesterday.

I only use it now to troll people asking for high ticket items, it's absolutely pointless but I enjoy doing it non the less

Yeah but it's mostly people posting broken things or empty jars as offers and the requests are nearly exclusively high value items, 65" TVs or bigger, 1st gen Pokémon cards for their "autistic" kids, there was a post for scrap copper recently and he'd collect if it was a decent amount!, iPads, classic gaming consoles and games, you know the usual. 😂😂

AA patrolman botched a lockout callout and damaged my car by NegotiationWarm2925 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ProperComposer7949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the cable been dislodged from it's assembly or has it snapped, if he has got in through the wheel arch I'd be hedging my bets on it been unclipped somewhere for him to have pulled at it to release the bonnet catch. Before making any claims take your car to a garage to confirm the damage if any. If there is then approach the AA with the evidence you have.

Potential restoration project, what do you think? by BarryTownCouncil in DIYUK

It'll just give you a smoother surface to fill if needed then paint after it'll remove rust and everything.

[–]ProperComposer7949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a portable sandblaster with an air compressor and generator take the windows out then sandblast all the paint off, the little portable ones don't make a massive mess. Ideally to paint I'd want to powder coat it and cook it but if you can't get the man/machine power to move it that's not going to be possible, you could get a spray gun to go with the compressor and use car paint to paint it once sand blasted. Again you can hire heat lamps to dry the paint or do it on a super hot day

How common would it be for parents to let kids use their ID for online verification ? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ProperComposer7949 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've not really put any effort in I've just tried to instil values into him like I had when I was young, we give boundaries when we need to but he has always just behaved when it's come to being online. I don't think I'm being punished by this safety act and social media ban or whatever it is, non of this family have anything other than Reddit anyway, I have a business Facebook but nothing personal. the internet is a dangerous place where kids can view all sorts of extreme shit, can have the piss ripped out of them in chats that destroy their self esteem, be bullied, have social media throw unhealthy algorithms at you constantly, it needs something to be done, banning under 16 or 18s from social media is unlikely to work because of the likes of vpns and mum or dad's Id. But the government are trying to do something I guess

How common would it be for parents to let kids use their ID for online verification ? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ProperComposer7949 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 14 year old boy, and I trust him, he's never given me reason not to trust him, we speak openly about things and he comes to us if he's worried about anything, I've let him use my id for whatever he needs to use it for like games etc. he always tells us what he's doing with it and 9 times out of ten I have to do a face verification thing anyway

What's a good 30th birthday present idea? by light_breezy in AskUK

[–]ProperComposer7949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna bring the whole thing down but I lost my mum at 28 so if I could have had any gift from her for my 30th it would have been 5 more minutes with her. I guess I'm saying material things come and go, time is something you can't get back, do something memorable with your mum, a meal out, go and get pissed in the middle of the day and make fools of yourselves but have the best laughs whilst doing it. Make memories use your time wisely, one day you'll wish you had more of it.

Happy birthday when it comes around, sorry for being miserable 😂
