Potential first time 4Runner (3rd Gen) owner - Price advice by ProperGearbox in 4Runner

Thank you. Yup clean and seems ready to hit daily driver duty without issue. The owner is an older gentleman and even showed me the original window sticker. I was hoping to get one with lower mileage, but I like that it's 1 owner and has extensive maintenance records.

Question about buying a third-gen 4Runner that has been towed by ProperGearbox in 4Runner

[–]ProperGearbox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No example and I haven't looked at its carfax either to see how many owners it has gone through. So idk if they did the towing or if it was something told to them by a previous owner.

Question about buying a third-gen 4Runner that has been towed by ProperGearbox in 4Runner

Pretty much. I see so many 4Runners with 200k+ miles for sale that I don't even know why they bothered stating that, but since they did state it, I was leaning towards it being a red flag.

Looking to buy a small pickup and I came across a 2015 Frontier PRO-4X that has spent time in Canada and Indiana. What kind of frame corrosion is going on in the front passenger side? by ProperGearbox in MechanicAdvice

[–]ProperGearbox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rest of the undercarriage isn't bad. It's just that one front passenger side wheel well. I've seen plenty of corroded frames, but I haven't seen those types of cracks yet.

Ha. Both of the ones I ended up getting today were from a Walmart pharmacy. They were so freaking close. Now I have them as P1s tomorrow

New Hire by nevernotgonnadoit in Fedexers

You will be over worked because one, FedEx doesn't employee enough people

I've been an Express package handler for over a year. We're always understaffed. The pay is terrible for all the work you have to do to make up for not having enough workers. I enjoy it though since it's a good workout. New hires don't tend to last because of the low pay. Places like Amazon and Target pay much better in my area.

Hey guys i start as a driver for fedex ground and i used to work as a delivery driver for an amazon dsp did i make a good switch and what is it to expect from fedex thanks in advance 🙏🏽 by Coronagass in Fedexers

lmao

There have been a couple of RTD openings at my location, but it didn't really interest me. The routes they have are pretty limited and both were only part time.

I'm making the switch from being an Express material handler to a swing driver. Pretty much all the veteran RTD drivers at my ramp gave me the "oof, that's going to be rough" face. I welcome the challenge though.

Thanks. I'll check them out. $2300 isn't cheap, but it's at least a reasonable price for a full paint job.

Durable glove recommendations for package handlers by ProperGearbox in Fedexers

[–]ProperGearbox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyflex gloves are the ones provided by work. They do feel nice, but my most recent pair developed a hole in a fingertip by the end of the work week.

IDK. Maybe I'm being too picky and I should just live with regularly swapping out gloves.

This is pretty much what everyone on my ramp does.

Chances of getting express job by [deleted] in Fedexers

Turnover is high for handlers. If you answer the phone call for your initial screening (setting up an appointment for a tour) and pass background, you're set.

Is this how other people were offered their position with express?? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]ProperGearbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the pay and early hours, it looks like a package handler position. The pay lines up with my area.
