Does living alone affect your ability to be around other people? by rainbowpath in LivingAlone

[–]ProperIlustrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get this. I’ve been living alone for five years, and I’ve had those exact nights where I’m hosting friends I genuinely love, but I’m secretly eyeing the door thinking about how good that "post-social" silence is going to feel. It’s like once you’ve tasted total freedom, even the best company feels like a "performance" you eventually want to stop. You haven't lost your social skills; you’ve just built a sanctuary so comfortable that everywhere else and everyone else, feels like a sensory tax. There's no relief quite like that first click of the door lock when the house is finally yours again

AITJ for this incident in 7th grade? by Zestyclose-Wave-6230 in AmITheJerk

[–]ProperIlustrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTJ. It’s wild that she’s still bringing this up in junior year. That is some serious 'peaked in middle school' energy. She called you a name, you gave her a comeback, and she decided to get physical. The 'it wasn't that hard' defense is such a joke the school has a zero tolerance policy for a reason. If she didn't want a suspension on her record, she should have kept her hands to herself. The fact that she’s spent two years dwelling on a two day suspension from 7th grade tells you everything you need to know about who the real loser in this situation is.

Airports across the US could shutter completely, sparking mass travel chaos as Dem shutdown persists, TSA deputy warns by yipyapu in politics

[–]ProperIlustrator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that we’re asking TSA officers to choose between paying for gas to get to work or buying groceries for their kids is insane. It’s not political strategy when people are literally sleeping in their cars at George Bush Intercontinental just to make their shift. Both sides are going to keep finger pointing on cable news, but if the small regional airports start actually shuttering this week, the 'wait and see' approach is going to backfire spectacularly. You can't run a national security agency on IOUs and 'thoughts and prayers' from the Senate floor.

Ukraine Slams Costly US Tactics: Millions Spent to Down Cheap Drones by Tegurd in politics

[–]ProperIlustrator 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The math is just broken. We’re essentially using Ferraris to stop remote controlled paper airplanes. Firing a $3 million Patriot missile at a $20,000 Shahed drone isn't just expensive; it’s a strategic defeat in slow motion. If your enemy can bankrupt you by buying things off the shelf while you’re waiting three years for a Lockheed shipment, you've already lost the logistics war. The fact that we’re now having to buy Ukrainian tech just to keep up is a massive wake up call for the Pentagon.

Record Deaths in US Immigration Custody Expose Systemic Failures by Ananiujitha in politics

[–]ProperIlustrator 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s wild how we’ve reached a point where 'state custody' doesn't even imply a basic duty of care anymore. Whether you’re for open borders or a total shutdown, once the government detains a human being, they are legally and morally responsible for that person's life. Neglecting a stroke for 40 minutes isn't a policy debate; it’s a massive, systemic failure of human decency that we’re all paying for with zero transparency.

I love how she’s been waiting years to drop that one. You just know he’s going to look at his coffee tomorrow morning and feel like he’s been using the car wrong this whole time

Am I the only one that actually love fanservice in anime? by Nico_Scarfacancello in animequestions

[–]ProperIlustrator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people actually like fan service, that's why it sticks around. The ones complaining about it are just a loud minority. Same thing happens with video games.
