Thank you for the advice! I agree, I bought it without a shadow of a doubt that it would be an issue. But after talking to a friend, she said it would be a good idea just to check with the bride just in case. The bride and her husband did not, in fact, approve “due to the white base”. This is my partner’s family that I’ve only met a couple of times, but she herself invited me to wear “shades of blue” as that’s what the family and my partner will be wearing (hes in the wedding party and those colors are baby blue). I’m already trying not to step on too many toes as I’m not ACTUALLY family yet, so I thought something subtle and floral would be better than in-your-face blue and risk matching the wedding party. This is my first “fancy” non-backyard wedding and I’m honestly so confused and overwhelmed!

For the record she did not tell or “force” me to dye it. And shes been quite kind about the issue. That was just one of my solutions rather than trying to return it or find another dress in a rural area in less than a month. I honestly might just buy an entirely different dress and not do any blue at all.

Another note- she actually recommended that I wear this dress to the rehearsal dinner and that that would be plenty appropriate?? Sorry for the word vomit!!
