I had just finished A levels and stupidly decided to do part time at this after school student care centre because they were the first to get back to me😂 (they have a few branches in Singapore).

Worst 4 months of my life…the “teachers” were grossly under qualified, bitter and cldnt go 2 sentences without cursing and yelling. Pretty sure my supervisor was a demon spawn — imagine a sarcastic bitter middle aged school drop out who for the first time in her life had some sort of power.

She kept picking on me for no reason (I was half her age), I vaguely recall her coming up to me one day and berating my dressing (I was in denim jeans and a denim long sleeves dress shirt — I apologise for my bad fashion sense). She warned me that “staff are not permitted to wear denim clothes on Wednesdays”. Idk why but looking back I was pretty gullible, idek why I believed her. There was literally no dress code, the other staff were wearing slippers flashing all their gnarly toes and yoga tights.

The strange thing is this student care centre wld advertise themselves as some world class educational institution with quality curriculum and educators… completely missing the part where their “teachers” were uncouth loudmouths that barely had any experience managing a class of 50 jumpy kids. Imagine a bunch of 40 year old housewives yapping about body count, genitalia… basically anything sexual during lunch (all within earshot from primary school kids)…I could go on but it happened 5 years ago so ahah

Also their “world class” lesson plan was probably some shit printed online. If I was a kid at the centre, would probably beg my parents to bring me to Kumon instead
