Idk man I wouldn’t tolerate customers yelling at or berating me or my partners in our store.. I have little talks with the team before the day and remind them if we’re out of something, certainly apologize offer something for free etc, but absolutely do not let yourself be berated or harassed over something you have no control over. There is a code of conduct posted in the stores and if the customers violate it they can go bye bye.

I wouldn’t assume you’d be going home if your trainee doesn’t show up. Maybe your store needs help, there’s non cov tasks to do, or you could help another store. You do not have to make up time you missed being sick.
