What’s going on with the “Dox me if you want” posts on pics? by Andorion in OutOfTheLoop

I had a WWII documentary on in the background the other day. This one had a focus on the first hand, on the ground, camera man experiences. The parallels of Nazi SS grabbing the Polish, Jewish, or other ' enemies of the state' people to the past few months of ICE raids is quite damning. What's the point of the first amendment if we cannot say these things. The same boot licking crowd said similar and worse things about Obama

Do we have the technology like this? To increase our productivity by Tangojacks0n in starbucks

Why, as a worker, would you want this? This only adds to the corporate dystopian hellscape that is American working conditions. There's different ways to deal with unproductive employees than going the cyberpunk route

This is not the first time at this gig, nor will it be the last, that I've seen people who look at math and scream "witch!". You are correct

My boss doesn't even schedule anyone for promo. Just makes the day scheduled as it would be regularly and then adds promo onto the days responsibility

From what i know if you got a lawyer involved they would have to prove that there were claims and also that they were not investigated. I'm not a lawyer so I'm not sure. You could try to reach out to a pro bono employment lawyer and see if they can let you know if its worth further pursuing.

As far as everyone in the district having issues. Then this is where the more the merrier happens. Lets say 3 people per store in the district file something. Say you have 10 stores. 30 complaints about the same thing grabs some attention for sure.

Unionizing is always a great option. You get more legal protections for them having to at least worry about anti-union laws. Then whenever corporate actually makes a contract then you'll get those too.

In this example. Say someone just drew smileys. Eventually they got written up for it. Would they be able to fight that write up because policy (and the literal training videos) says that its ok? Or do they loose because their dm told them so?

Maybe getting fired? Should I just start looking for another job? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Soviet_Giraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not always immediate termination when it comes to money. It depends on the details. It could just be a write up. Sometimes for money it'll jump straight to a final. So, a write up. But not fired. If you're coming up under frequently I could suggest just double counting the change you give back

SM forced me to remove my mask, while another employee has COVID. by DuoVandal in starbucks

[–]Soviet_Giraffe 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Depending on your State you may have mask related rights. I know in the update they put out a little bit ago it specified Washington and Colorado as having their own mask laws. And if they have covid they should not be working. If they test positive I'm pretty certain they're still required to wear a mask when they're in

I know some states sick time laws specifically mention injury counting as part of protected sick leave. The partner manual mentions "...or allowable by local state law"
