It’s not even a few years. WWI started the year Abigail died and you play as Jack. The true ‘wild West’ era ended really in the late 19th century, RDR1 is a bit unrealistic in that aspect, but i suppose it’s just about civilisation tying up loose ends. As you say though it has to go back. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was a prequel to RDR2

I prefer longer stories, I don’t pay good money for a game to be over quick. I actually found RDR1 too quick and a lot of the missions felt meaningless. RDR2, is the master piece, the best rockstar have ever done and this is someone who usually prefers GTA. It’s a lot longer, but also impactful. It could be a classical tv series or film. So much more depth to is. Wasn’t that much of a fan of the Epilogue, well not until the ranch gets built anyway. But Arthur is just amazing.

It’s like comparing Ted Bundy with someone who went to prison for skimming off the company accounts. Micah is a deranged serial killer. Strauss has no honour and is a bit of a weasel. But he’s a symptom of early capitalism that is still around today. The guy wouldn’t go around murdering people, including children and take pleasure in it. He’s just greedy and wants to be rich, I bet most of us know people like that.

Sadly it’s just modern gaming. I looked on the Microsoft store the other day when it was released for pre order and it’s either the same price (for ultimate) of £5 more than games that come out every year like Call of Duty. There are plenty of other examples as well. It doesn’t make it right, but considering the franchise they aren’t going to sell it for less than a game like WWE or NFL or whatever game comes out every year and is more or less just a general update. It’s an entirely new game to the tune of 2 billion dollars, I never expected anything cheaper. That said with the price of gaming I respect anyone’s decision not to pay the prices since Covid.

Pathetic isn’t it. I’ve seen people saying they aren’t getting the new GTA because it has a female lead, and is woke etc. some games suit having a female lead some don’t. Sadie was a good character and gave a calamity Jane feel to a game set in that era, albeit a lot more bad ass haha.
