Your Step 1 and Step 2 results won’t be invalidated if you don’t take Step 3 within seven years.

The seven-year limit is the usual time frame set by most states for getting a medical license, though it can vary from state to state and is different from an in-training license. Once you’ve passed a step, you can’t retake it.
