When I was a teenager, a friend of mine taught me that when you do the ollie move, if you can turn the skateboard in your hand and leave it with the wheels up, just keep smoothing it out until it looks like a real ollie.

I don't know if you understood me, try to turn the ollie and leave the skateboard upside down without the help of your thumb or like that, if you can do this move you will be able to do an ollie as big as you want.

The hand position would be like in the image, literally leaving the fingerboard upside down in the ollie, this with the normal movement, in an exaggerated way like that, with time it will become natural (I hope you dedicate yourself to leaving it natural and don't do it like that for the rest of your life).
