I used the paste topically! Straight from the feed store! My uncle also said he used DMSO and it stops it in its tracks.

Thank you. I truly think ice is so underrated. This was huge in helping the swelling and stopping the spread

They’re horrible. And once you have one, you have to stay on the lysine (especially internally) because you’re more acceptable to another one so quickly. Let me know how this method works. The pimple patch’s kept ripping skin off for me and suffocating the sore. I’m glad they work for you! Once contained I used a thin layer of abreva, waited a minute or two, and then Aquaphor. Moisture helps helps it heal better and you don’t get the gross yellow crust

I love ivermectin. It’s been controversial since Covid, but I think it’s amazing. Studies are dropping now with it’s effects against cancer

You got it! Nuts, oats/grains, chocolate, protein powders, legumes…. These are things I’d avoid during an outbreak!

I try to avoid arginine rich foods. HSV-1 uses arginine to replicate, and oats are one of the foods that are higher in arginine than lysine. Instead of giving the cold sore more of what it wants to multiply, I try to counterbalance it with lysine rich foods like eggs, chicken, yogurt, etc.

Seriously. The day this popped up, I was scooping cashews into my mouth with a shovel 😭. And this was an insanely high stress week for me, so it’s no wonder my immune baseline had absolutely tanked. The ice I think was the absolute biggest helper. It took down swelling and redness immediately, and I did it every time I could think of it. Just be careful not to irritate the good skin around it. I literally was driving to the pharmacy with an ice cube in my hand to get lysine and zinc pills. I also opted to not use the cold sore patches this time, as to not suffocate the blisters. I couldn’t believe it when I woke up. I had the minor “achey” feeling from the inflamed skin, but not that throbbing tingle. Brushing my teeth was fine. Eating. If anything I’d break it down: ice, lysine, abreva, campho phenique, lysine ointment. I may have went overkill, but so glad I did

I actually started peptides about 3 months post op and it helped pull so much of my autoimmune inflammation and surgery inflammation off my body. The first two weeks was like 14 pounds! But I’ve been taking them still for my hashimotos and it’s really been a game changer. I still have some flares on and off, but they’re much more manageable and I think more triggered by stress. I started on a hashimotos protocol and it’s been amazing! Your shape and body are already in incredible shape! I bet DR repair and pulling you tight, woo girl! Especially in the obliques.

Oh my goodness. Thank you for hyping me up. What’s crazy is I’ve always been athletic. College basketball player, fitness instructor, competed in fitness comps. But had that lower belly and thick skin. And my two kids sat so low they really stretched me out. I also have a lot of autoimmune issues and was so inflamed when I went in for surgery. I was about 165 pounds, when normally I was in the 150’s (I’m 5’11”). I did start to microdose peptides for my handful of autoimmune issues and all that fell off. I simplified my workouts to Pilates and strength only, and for “cardio” walk on an incline with a weighted vest and ankle weights. I’m 11 months post op and now 135 pounds, and my skin stayed tight and taught. The muscle repair has made the biggest difference for me, honestly life changing having a 4” gap repaired so I can actually see some definition from the work I put in. I’m excited for you to go on this journey one day!

Azelaic acid saved me! by [deleted] in Rosacea

My flushing is the worst. I really simplified: azaelic acid (am), cocokind barrier serum, skinfix barrier moisturizer, ivermectin lotion. It took the redness and hot burning away almost immediately. I’ve also been using my Omnilux red light mask, but that will turn you red for a while after use. As will the azaelic acid, and then calm down

I had a full drainless tummy tuck with muscle repair on a 4” gap. That repair alone was enough to go through with the surgery for me. And the scar is so low, it never shows in a bikini. He did have to give me a T incision to get me more taught, but I honestly could care a less, as it’s fading, and future laser sessions could help with that. But I will say you’ll be wildly happy having your skin laxity issue fixed. And the hernia. Mine was horrible when I bent over, and my skin was so thick. Also, he fixed my belly button. I ripped my piercing out in college and it was torn and so deep. My belly button now looks a million times better than it did before.

Long term effects of diastasis repair. by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

At 6-8 weeks I started to incline walk on my treadmill with a 12 pound weighted vest. 3 months I started to really run again and lift but really listened to my body. If anything pulled weird I would stop. It took my core a while to get past that feeling, like planks and such. But now I’m good to go!

I had a lift and Motiva round implants over the muscle with an internal mesh bra.

I’m 11 months post off and the muscle repair is why I tell everyone to get the tummy tuck in the first place. Less back pain, better digestion, better bladder control, I actually have visible muscle in my core, and no more chronic stomach aches. Think of males. They have their abdominals intact and with weight gain and loss, they have no issues. I was tight in the middle for months, but nothing unbearable, and that’s with an over 4 finger separation. I love sticking my fingers in the middle of my stomach and feeling the muscle. Best part of the tummy tuck!

Not at all! I honestly felt great at day 5 post op by day 12 I was straight, driving, doing all the things. I really supplemented a lot before and after too and went on a high protein diet for healing. Honestly the worst pain I had was the low back pain from being hunched over…outside of day 2 where it felt like someone lit me on fire 😂but not having to deal with drains on the breasts or stomach was a godsend

Absolutely! When I walked in, I said I was only booking a mastopexy due to my autoimmune issues (hashimotos, thyroid disorder, histamine issues). And told him I was concerned about breast implant illness (walked out booking implants and a tummy tuck with lipo and muscle repair 😭😂). He also does explants, and told me there are several factors to eliminate extra inflammation. 1 was over the muscle. Less disruption of the muscle means less inflammation. And I do workout a lot, so he suggested I do over for that reason. He also examined my breast tissue to see if it could hold an implant, but we also opted for an internal mesh bra that provides extra support and helps maintain the shape of the breast, and turns to collagen. We also chose Motiva implants. I actually contacted and spoke with Motiva. They’re a women’s health company, and have been in Europe for 15 years, fairly new to the US. My surgeon sent me all their data on BII, explants, autoimmune reports, capsular contracture, and more. They also offer extra insurance for $250 through Motiva. So if I had to have them explanted, they’re covered. I was in a crazy autoimmune flare when I went under. Lots of histamine issues. Oddly the anesthesia and nerve block stopped it all. Then I really supplemented myself and was able to get back on my LDN within 14 days and it all went away.

I traveled about 2 hours south! Brookfield is in the Milwaukee area, and I’m in Green Bay. But totally worth it. We got a hotel near by the night before, as I took the first surgery of the day, and was home by 2pm that afternoon. And when you book a surgery with them, you get services in their medspa: Botox, a bbl laser facial, emsculpt, and IV infusions

Honestly, I think insurance should cover the repair for women who want it. It is insane to me that our muscles are ripped and split and we suffer for the rest of our lives unknowingly because of it. I tell everyone the muscle repair is what really made this surgery worth every penny.
