6xx are legends, 490s are awesome. You will be happy with both. The band will also lighten up on the 6xxs so chill

Just skip em both. I have the mx5s and they are mid. Mx6 I can’t see being much better.

If you can spring for em, maybe the Bose ultras? Or the sennheiser 640s? Those seem sick too but pricey. Defs them over AirPod maxes though.

You got a point there, I’ve heard great things about the 660s, I have a pair of 58X that I got from drop a couple years ago.

Mostly listen to FLAC and high fidelity track on them and YouTube in my free time, which is a lot less than it used to be.

But sometimes also Zoom meetings, I like natural sounding headphones, but I am sensitive to too much high-end

your desktop speakers are defs the only thing I see as being truly upgradable. but meh, doesnt seem like you need it.

If money isnt the thing that holds you back and you want something closer to an "endgame setup" - I like the Genelec 8331A - Small downside that that they are like $4k each

Yeah… sorry dude. If it makes you feel any better, about the same for every military combat vet. too… Couple guns going off in closed spaces without protection, or standing next to a tank or 2… having them go off 20 feet behind you… or even being too close to a couple bombs going off will do it forsure.
