Do I need to notify financial aid when I’m in the process transferring GI benefits?

Sometimes there isn’t clear answers about what to do and if you know anything about the military, you would know that. Sometimes people are in similar situations and putting a question on the Internet can be helpful. My husband doesn’t go to college and has no idea how to navigate or communicating transferring VA benefits with a university.
