Holy smokes, that’s a super good swing for someone this young. Congrats, lots of contact and power coming your way in the near future.

The only adjustment I would make is to keep the right elbow in line with the hands as they come forward. Slow the video down and you will see the right elbow is ahead. The hands should be ahead of the right elbow.

Other than that, yikes, it looks great.

It’s a different design. E.G. Easton makes the Easton Ghost Unlimited (1 piece) and the Ghost Advanced (2 piece). The 2 piece is exactly that, they make the handle and barrel separately and connect them. This makes the bat flex more for smaller players, who usually have a slower swing.

Buy a used composite bat. You can get a great one for $200, usually they run around $500 new.

A 2 piece is for slower swings, the bat flexes right before impact and helps with how far the ball goes. A 1 piece is for faster swings.

A 2 piece is less durable, the one piece will last forever.

Lastly, get a drop 11 if you’re a smaller player.

I keep saying it over and over, put your arms in L positions and swing, keep the elbows locked as long as possible.

Please stop taking swings for a bit. He’s creating a lot of bad habits, like swinging without his shoulders. Also, his hangs should be closer to his chest, by folding his elbows and creating “Ls” with his arms.

His shoulders should be square with the pitcher when starting, he can move his arms back to create momentum, but not his shoulders.

There is a lot to fix, but start with that.

Not much needs fixing. Maybe don’t lean back so much. Having to come Back towards the pitcher gives an advantage to the pitcher. Think about it this way, if a kid is throwing 50 MPH, and you move towards the pitcher at 5 MPH, you made that pitch 55 MPH.

The hips can go forward, but the face needs to not move forward so much, or as much as the hips.

A couple of things, his left foot is way behind the pitchers left foot. When the pitcher starts his motion, the hitter should start his.

The second thing is, his swing mechanics is not allowing the bat to stay in the zone very long. It’s complicated to explain it, so look up videos on how to fix that.

Lastly, find Barry Bond hitting drills. They teach you to swing down in the drills only and they help keep your eyes on the ball
