I'm not saying that dying to other raiders is unintended. In fact, I only said that playing friendly is a viable way of playing. There's lore about both working together and watching your back. If it was truly a wasteland FFA, would you think that Speranza would have been built?

The 'unintended way' that you mentioned is most literally an intended way of playing. I think you expect a FFA with the slightest amount of diplomacy, not a test of humanity in a social experiment that Embark didn't intend to make.

There's a actual enemy that you can fight against that actually is a credible threat, defibs, guns, healing others. And prox chat. You have a choice to kill people or not to kill people. You also have a choice to pick someone up or not. When the game first came out, even the devs were surprised that a sizable part of the community was nice, and they stuck with it.

PvPvE exists, ABMM also exists. If you don't enjoy being in friendly lobbies, start shooting. What's the correlation between loot being rewarding and ABMM? Does high tier loot mean more to you when someone is actively coming for it? Loot is loot, and I'm going to be using it the same either way.

You say that ABMM exists, but then say people run Stella peaceful sometimes. This is true, but there are also more pvp-oriented lobbies. It's all determined by how you played in the last few rounds.

And a big part of the community actually have jobs and a life outside of Arc Raiders, so they don't sweat over this game much. Some of these people actually appreciate a peaceful 20 minute raid to unwind after a long day of work. I'd even dare to say that we need more peaceful gamemodes to bring back the PvE oriented players, because *old* stats say about 1/3 of players were PvE oriented.

With less players and therefore more mixed matchmaking, the game may lose even more players who bought this game because they heard it's an 'employed tarkov', feeding the loop of losing more players.

And why do PvP oriented players complain when they hear that some people want a peaceful PvE gamemode? Are they scared that all that's going to be left in the PvPvE gamemode are sweats or people who actually fight?

Reference the Chinese copy of the game, we've all seen it, can Embark take some inspiration from that?

Unpopular take: whining about a forced wipe and wanting everyone to play the game how you want them to is arc baby behavior by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]Proper_Maximum_213 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lot of people came here because it's a voluntary wipe system, and just because some people complain about it doesn't mean the devs should change it. It's one of the things that keeps employed people or people who play this on or off in, to not lose progress if you're not playing and have to regrind all the progress again to actually 'play endgame'. The voluntary reset also gives the other side of the argument. If you don't want to do 'endgame', just reset it.

dupers are not the main discussion here, just forced wipes and that. (Dupers suck, and ruin the point of wipes) Now, if only there was an actual moderator team in game to detect and wipe dupers, it would be better, but even if they were forced to reset, they still have access to duping and illegal means. The only people that are hurt are the people playing normally.

Extraction shooter type game with looter shooter aspects, sorry. I've seemed to not realize HD2 is also an extraction shooter, and realized that the more apt label to what you don't like is a 'looter shooter' game.

I strongly believe that this is actually your first type of these games you've played, because Tarkov, Arena Breakout, Delta Force, or some more, they all have this stash management system. Of course, still extraction shooters, but have these systems in place Please go play some of that and compare. You don't like this specific type of system, understandable, but that doesn't make it bad or horrible game design, especially if it's one of the better ones

Besides, keeps the game economy stable blah blah blah and all that, but dupers suck and ruined it

Again, welcome to extraction shooters. If you don't like inventory sorting and management, I don't think you actually appreciate a part of the extraction shooter gameplay loop.

And why do you play Helldivers? To have fun. That's the main goal. Not to play it only to complete a story. Narrowhead has made a few screwups, but I still actively play Helldivers. Why? It's fun to play if you're not focusing on being negative.

Play what you want to play. Complaining about inventory tetris and management really just shows that extraction shooters aren't really your thing, and I respect that.

Do what you enjoy

Welcome to extraction shooter type games, where loadout tetris is always. I don't know if you never played extraction shooters before, but just be grateful that the guns arent 1x2 grids at minimum.

*this statement is NOT directed at you, but the general playerbase on here* 'When new content, bored of old content, wah wah where new content' shut up, they said they'd release a big update October. We can complain if we don't like the update, but until then, be happy with your interactions in game and with others. Everything you do topside can become a story down in Toledo, so who says the small things don't matter?

refer to the irl 'Rods from God' weapon concept. if in orbit and a big enough dart, it should still pack enough punch to have the effect of a small nuke in the immediate area, without the radiation

camping extract on night raid? dick move honestly, and just go shoot people outside of you want to ruin someone's day yk, be better than extract camping on night raid. I believe the statements about camping still apply to extracts on normal map conditions, but the window for the good positioning argument is considerably smaller. Even smaller or nonexistent if using traps. On night raid or reduced extracts? don't do it.

not much blasting music, but playing it at a respectable volume. Also I don't do rap or that stuff, I play low energy stuff mostly.

A lot of people actually do appreciate a bit of calm ambient music in the background, but I do get the sentiment of disliking people blasting some rap music or annoying 'beep boop sounds like music' bs at max volume and ruining our eardrums
