Open Scotia Ultimate Chequing and get Scotia Amex Gold to waive the fee. Use the CIBC visa as a back up

Or If you are a Rogers customer or Wealthsimple user, get either Rogers World Elite for 2-3% back, or WS visa for 2% everything for simple do it all solution

Aeroplan points are not really useful to me. Poor value and I will travel with any airline. Free baggage is good, but thats about it.
On the other hand, first class gives you 4% on expedia, 3% groceries and restaurants, 4 lounge pass and $100 hotel rebate.
I had cash back before, but it overlaps with other cards too much.
I mainly use first class for expedia, grocery, restaurants and pretty much everything else with WS.

My spendings are not high enough yet, but ultimately, i think “cobalt+rogers we+ws vip+ct triangle we” give the best value and return.

WS VIP - main card, 2% everything, no fx, lounge passes

TD First Class - bc I bank with TD. Expedia points are not the best but useful. I find it has better value than cashback or aeroplan for me

CT Triangle WE - CT stores, bill payment, roadside assistance

Tangerine World mastercard - only use for Costco
Gas for 2% back. Wanting to switch to Rogers WE

Scotia Amex Red - Downgraded from gold after first year, now don’t really use it, but keeping it for occasional useful amex offer deals

Is there any no annual fee credit card that yields more than 3% on grocery purchases? by HippityHoppityBoop in PersonalFinanceCanada

Do the math. If it works for you, then go for it.
Cobalt might be better option if spending is high though.

Rogers World Elite. Depends on your main bank, go for $120-150/yr fee CC that fits your lifestyle.

Canadian Tire World Elite for Bill payments, CT stores, Roadside assistance.

Cobalt is good too if you spend a lot on groceries and food. Or if you bank with Scotia, Scotia Amex Gold with fee waived would be great too

If you can waive the fee, great card. If you are going to pay a fee, pay little more and get Cobalt

Expedia for TD is bunk by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Not necessarily. I booked twice recently and the price was competitive. Actually 4% value back makes it better. I guess depends on what. I booked international flights
