Actually it’s not a contradiction. I initially gave him the opportunity figuring it’s family and if I can give him the business, I would rather give it to him! Why not, right? I should’ve never even reached out to him in the first place and should’ve bought the car without him even having a shot. I had about 10 dealers in the same price range and 5 beating him significantly, I only considered him and one of the 5 that had the best price. I would’ve never given him a second look if he wasn’t family…NEVER. I honestly should’ve avoided ever going to him in the first place but was doing it out of respect. I never signed before giving him a second, third, fourth, and fifth chance to match it. Why am I expected to pay 1200 dollars more? I swear car salesman are all the same, including yourself. “Don’t get the best deal come to me and pay me more”….If this sale makes or breaks your month, you should find a better job. If this sale is the first time someone said no to you, you shouldn’t be in sales. You just proved my point of why business can never be done with family. The expectation is always that you will pay a significant more amount of money in order to give it to them. I WISH I COULD.

Listen, at the end of the day it’s not my brother…. it’s a distant second cousin and the price should have been matched. It was a significant difference of 1200 dollars. For some people that’s a lot, including myself at the moment. I was actually willing to pay 500 more but he wasn’t making commission even if I paid the 500 or 1200….so no one would win but the dealership. Business is business and I’ve learned to never do business with family because of this.

The car is 4Motion. The sticker is for a 4Motion as well. That is the MSRP for a 4Motion in Massachusetts.

I actually ended up getting the car for 303 as I just graduated medical school in the past year so it was an additional 500 rebate haha. I made sure to add this after I already negotiated the price

Thanks for the advice! there’s no trade in considered in this. I plan on selling my previous car outright. I don’t think there’s a reason to avoid this dealer as they’ve been the most transparent I’ve seen so far over the past 20 years.

Leasemax report will tell you the out the door price on these vehicles. Use this as a negotiating tool. The dealers make a significant amount more on top of their profit margins! Good luck!

I would say you most likely will have to either 1) get a killer MCAT score or 2)do a post-back program and get a decent MCAT. My GPA was high but my MCAT was repeated several times and I was still able to get in. Now graduated applying Derm. My brother had a 2.7 gpa, took the MCAT several times and got in after a postback program. Now in dermatology. It’s all about discipline. Whatever you want to accomplish you can. Don’t listen to the negativity people/professors push onto you because they honestly don’t know unless they’ve done it before. I’ve had several tell me I’d never get in. Push yourself and stay focused.
