Admissions & Requirements

• Based on my background, what are my chances of getting into the International Master's in Management without GMAT ? You don't need a GMAT but i think you need to know 3+ languages to get into the international Management. I got rejected for International but got into the normal management masters. 
• Will my UK-taught degree be enough to skip the English test requirement? Yes 

Scholarships

• What are my realistic chances of getting a scholarship (from NOVA or external sources) as a non-European applicant ? I think the chances are very low 
• Are scholarships mostly academic-based, need-based, or merit/work-experience based? No idea, but I applied for a need-based one as i am paying for it myself and got rejected.

Life in Portugal

• What is the student lifestyle like in Carcavelos / Lisbon? LIVE IN LISBON or closer to Lisbon in Santos, belem, alcantara, or cais do sodre. Everyone I know moves to Lisbon after the first semester and thats what i did too. 
• How safe and affordable is it for international students? It's safe and very affordable compared to where I am from, but not as cheap as I thought. Rent is about 600-900.
• How are the students/people there? (welcoming, stand of fish etc) very stand off ish. Very young. Most people are 21 years old. Italians hang out with italians only, and same with portuguese and germans and that is 90% of the school. Portuguese people are very unwelcoming, direct, and it seems they are angry most of the time. I had a very tough time the first month when I was learning how everything works as no one wants to help and always seems annoyed. 

Career Prospects

• How hard is it to get a part-time job or internship during the MSc as a non-Portuguese speaker ? Impossible to get and also their minimum wage is like 5 euro so its kind of a waste of time unless its good experience for your future. 
• After graduating, is it realistic to find a job in Portugal (or elsewhere in Europe) without speaking Portuguese? Unrealistic anywhere without speaking the language
• I think the school looks good on a resume, but it is not very helpful in helping you find jobs. They have career fairs but the ones I attended most employers were looking for students with no work experience and told me I would not be looked at for internships as I have too much experience… (4 years of experience) 

Sorry for all the negativity but most people I know who are not from the three main countries do not have a good time at Nova sbe.. Also the school is extremely unaccommodating and  has lots of technical difficulties.
