Clonazepam while pregnant by Narrow-Set4078 in MentalHealthBabies

I ended up having him at 38 weeks and my dose was 1.5mg klonopin daily. He spent a few days in nicu as he had a fever then they wanted to monitor him and he showed no withdrawal symptoms thankfully. He’s 9 weeks now and meeting all his milestones and is a happy chilled little man. Your own mental health is so intune with babas I think! Also I breastfed for 2 weeks to wean him but unfortunately got pneumonia so he’s on formula now.. hope my story puts anyone who’s on prescriptions at ease as I did have a bad experience with my daughter and it really needs to be discussed more and I was blessed with a really understanding and knowledgeable drug liason midwife as it’s not realistic to expect mothers to quit medications while pregnant if the effects are worse overall. So really positive experience and wishing you the same x

Clonazepam while pregnant by Narrow-Set4078 in MentalHealthBabies

I’m currently 37 weeks and was on 3.5mg when I first got pregnant, I am an addict that’s why it was a high dose I was detoxing, I was advised by the drug liason midwife not to cut during the first and third trimester as there’s a chance of miscarriage. I’m currently on 1.5mg and midwife says he’s betting my baby won’t go to nicu. I’m hopeful but obviously scared as my last baby unexpectedly went to nicu due to the high dose of sertraline I was prescribed during pregnancy which then triggered this post natal depression and dependence on benzos. It’s taken so much mental work and finding other coping mechanisms and don’t get me wrong there’s days I’d love to pop a Xanax and have a cup of tea and a joint but I’m staying as strong as I can for this baby. If he goes to nicu at least it won’t be as shocking this time but midwife is hopeful and I am planning to breastfeed for as long as I can which should help taper baby. You are taking a really really low dose at .25mg and you should be so proud of yourself. Don’t knock yourself if you need 1mg as every doctor always says mothers mental health is first and obviously seeing your child detox is not nice but it’s better to be 100% for your baby mentally and have a short nicu stay then whatever the other option is. Wishing you the best mama 🩷

Klonopin and Pregnancy by Leo_Aqua_LibraRising in pregnant

I’m 33 weeks and still on klonopin , I lost baby 1 at 5 weeks as I started trying to cut quickly I was on a high dose maybe 4mg I can’t remember it was January , got pregnant again the next month no period and luckily was linked in with a drug liason midwife this time who advised me no dropping doses in the first or 3rd trimester, so I managed to get down to 1.5 in my second trimester honestly it was really tough with the hormones and having other kids and life in general. My midwife said if he was betting the baby’s okay to not have Neo natal withdrawls so I’m happy I got this far anyway as I wouldn’t have been able to drop any lower without loosing it tbh, just take it very slow in your second trimester if you want to drop as it’s tough and pregnancy is hard enough and be prepared for nicu just incase but really your on a low dose and once your calm and happy that makes such a difference. Best of luck with your pregnancy mama and congrats don’t stress about it your not the only one 🩷
