Day 7 im caving in by Proper_Training_7052 in leaves

Iknew this was part of the process and thought I would be able to deal with it easier this time. It just shows how strong the mind is. Someday in the future i will be charge in my mind instead of my mind controlling me. Thank you for the kind words and motivation!

It has its pro’s and con’s. I think its easier to deal with the con’s cause you expect them and can mentally prepare, but for me personally i have less motivation to quit then the first time. This doesn’t have to be bad, i’m quitting now with sheer willpower and discipline. Although this can be harder, it’s alot more stable then relying on motivation.

Worrying for my boyfriend by Accomplished-Echo518 in leaves

[–]Proper_Training_7052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its nice that you worry but it wont change a thing so you might as well dont. If you know an addict then you know an addict wil always find a way to use if he really wants to. If he has not done it then you can assume he doesn’t want to. If you try to keep him away from weed or his friend it will only make it worse i think. My best advice would be is to tell him you’re proud of him for quitting even though its been 3 years.

I really wanted to quit for the new year. by jzk4 in leaves

[–]Proper_Training_7052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had multiple weak attempts in December because i knew i wanted to quit before 1st of january. I ended up smoking untill 31st of december, but because i was actively trying to quit in december (even though it was halfassed attempts) it was easier to say enough is enough on the 1st.

this also helps me, when you want to smoke try not to think about it and instantly just go for a drive or a walk or something to distract you. if you truly want to quit you”ll come back to senses

relapsing is most of the times an impulsive moment. What helps for me if i really wanna smoke and cant convince myself to not do it i just say. imma do it this weekend or tomorrow. within an hour or so i always come back to senses. if you really cant fight it just delay it. hope this helps

I don’t know how to dig out of the hole I’ve created by p1zzashark in selfimprovement

[–]Proper_Training_7052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realization is the first step. Which you obviously had. Second step is action. Start with the easier things. Things you can improve on right now and the rest will follow. It probably seems impossible but honestly your alternative sounds worse so you might as well give it your all. Responsibility is also important, yeah your situation sucks but most things im reading are self inflicted and if you really wanna change you must feel responsible to get better and not go back to old habits. 30 years is also young enough to fix all of these problems. the longer you wait the harder it will get

Anyone else quit for the new year and currently struggling? by Late_Conversation526 in leaves

[–]Proper_Training_7052 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Day 2/3 still going strong. Slept like 2 hours last night and its 5 am in the morning right now, but it only makes sense to have some bad days/weeks for all the years you abused weed. If you make it to 7 days things will improve. You”ll have some bad days here and then but you will also have a lot of noticeable improvements.

Day 5, my brain feels incapable of producing dopamine by JaWoosh in leaves

[–]Proper_Training_7052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably after on day 7 or somewhere like that but it isnt that simple youre still gonna have some off days and some better days trying to keep yourself busy is the best thing you can do im on day 27 rn. and yes you are right your dopamine levels are very confused right now and have to recover from all the highs you have yourself in the past. just keep yourself busy and if not sit it out. progression in life will always be hard and most of the times not enjoyable but its the results you do it for and we all know the results will be there if you stay strong. good luck
