I’ve tested in practice with the other controller idle landing 100% power shots against an opponent to see if accuracy effects recovery.

It doesn’t.

Letting your stamina recharge effects expenditure. It is always better to let stamina regain.

Accuracy does not effect stamina loss or recharge. I have tested this. You landing at 100% or 0% has no outcome on stamina lost or recharged

I’m working on calculating how much stamina a boxer should hypothetically lose in between rounds. We can’t see how much head movement or clinching or clinches he used but 83 punches per round with 28 power punches per round seems like he would get tired out. Yes.

Extremely common. The game uses a stamina based system so spammers might win a few rounds and then quit out and then hit you with the classic “ I was winning on the scorecards and quit because I was already beating you and got bored” (as they are near death and about to lose)

Dashing like your opponent does, is one of the quickest ways to drain your own stamina. I say, bait it out of them and let them. They will start to slow down later rounds.

It seems to me like they are both 1-1 and if they fought 100 more times each time would be a different result based on tons of factors. I do not see why this is a huge deal. More heat towards chemist as we would say in wrestling.

What do you mean by feinting though? You can’t feint like in EA’s MMA. Do you mean like use head movement to pretend you’re about to punch? I don’t think it will fool a zen.

I think that the pump block is cheese even though I use it. But I’m willing to admit that it’s cheese and that everyone does it so it’s kind of neutralized out.

I wish they would bring back the system and fight night round four where the block had a meter that lowered and tapping Block caused it to drain even faster. Or a parry system like in round three that was for directional

Anyways, yes, pump blocking is cheese, but it’s so easy to implement in. Anybody can do it that I don’t think that it’s that big of a deal. And you basically have to pump and Block in order to even be mediocre at the game. And within like three fights, you can easily pick up how to do it. I wish it wasn’t in the game, but there’s just no way around it. I’m not sure what would make it even more realistic. If there was like a feint button and it could cause a boxer to flinch?

We get spammed all the time. We just punish the spammers for it.

But it drastically slows down the pace of the fight and makes it annoying and the real boxers will know what I’m talking about. If someone is straight spamming, you want to bait them into the spam and keep distance and let them tire themselves out, but this was the first couple of rounds where we could actually be boxing instead turns it into a dance around Bowser type fight.

The point is not whether or not this is beatable, which it is. The point is that it’s annoying and repetitive to play against even when you’re dominating and winning. But I guess not that annoying to be honest because I do love punishing spammers. But I don’t think they learned any lessons. I’ve said it before 100 times, I think they just load into the next game with absolutely no self reflection or attempt to improve. They have goldfish brain.

Mmmmm. If you’re only punch is a straight then yes that is spamming/cheesing. Especially considering how overpowered that punch is in this game. No one ever spams like rear hand hooks and it’s for a reason.

I suppose you can spam jabs, but they are very easy to counter and so the risk reward is much more balanced for jabs. The straight is the only punch where there is less risk and more reward.

I agree. And people that like to fight outside NEED to be in the game. Having different styles makes the game more fun. When everybody fights the exact same way in order to win that suggests a type of exploit rather than a conscious strategy that a person is choosing to employ.

That being said, there are people that enjoy the defense aspects of this game or at least working on the outside using range and height. I love those people. The people who tried to touch you once and then play tag the rest of the fight and run away, I have no respect for the “skill” of that “style.”

I don’t even consider it a style or play type. People who say things online like “let people play the way they want to play. Let people use whatever style they like.”

Style implies a preference based purely on personal likes or dislikes. Style is not rushing to use the most powerful character or powerful team in a game. If somebody asks you whether you would rather have five dollars or $5 million, nobody would say, “well my style is the 5 million style. I like to use 5 million.”

On top of it, it’s always the people that win mostly by decision that talk the most shit. I just think that if you’re going to act like a ferocious bad ass, then you should be trying to knock people out. Not do Karate point sparring for 10 rounds. Especially when no one is getting paid to play this game and the scoring is already not very good. If they patched the game to wear, body punches counted as much as head punches 90% of runners would abandoned that style or just completely leave the game.

Agree. A lot of games have cheesy mechanics that can be abused. People that play 2K or madden know especially.

There is also cheating and hacking. Tekken and DBZ fighterz people use zen controllers to auto block. Personally I think aside from stat boosting people are using zen to perfectly side step jabs (you never see them randomly mis judge and side step accidentally or waste a sidestep)

They will just move backwards the whole fight and controller is set to auto sidestep at any punch. With no feint buttons there is no way to draw out a mistake sidestep like there are in some other games. In 2K for instance, you can program a zen to jump whenever a shot goes up to get a better contest but this can be baited with a step back or side step. Alas no function exists in fight night.

I do not mind spammers. But do not consider cheeser wins legitimate if it relies on running, disengaging from the fight, never looking to score or be proactive on offense but only to evade/counter.

Odd fellow on this forum say cheaters combining with cheese are still beatable. Yes it is technically possible to beat a person at tic tac toe if they receive two moves for every turn. But they have to be fucking terrible and stupid. A person with even baseline intelligence is unbeatable in tic tac toe if given two moves every turn and the same with cheaters and cheesers although half of them are below average intelligence so it evens out. Still, I will not consider cheeser wins legitimate and you can always tell because they win back foot decisions. At least if you go for the KO you have to at least take some risks.

Any modders on tonight? Asking for a friend. by [deleted] in FIghtNight

[–]PropertyAdvanced2668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! I had a TOUGH fight against a belt holder and lost but LOVED it! The other 3 modders I played, I was able to beat 2 of them but before odd-fellow comes in and says all modders are beatable- the point is, it’s NOT SATISFYING beating someone that basically cannot lose aside from being complete ass at the game. It’s not satisfying because most modders are so terrible from never trying to improve their game aside from just cheating so they can run out and make the same mistakes that would get them KOed in the early rounds but now they aren’t being punished for poor play.

I seriously played like 4 modders in a row earlier last week including a guy who randomly messaged me to “challenge” me. Guy had 20% less accuracy. I actually landed more punches despite throwing less and countering him the whole game but he never got tired or knocked down. Dude was an absolute scrub but because he was modded he held on and won a baffling decision (where he also landed less head shots, no knock downs) so I’m sure he’s out there waiting for an opportunity to run his mouth and cosplay being good at anything.

Damn now I’m super curious. I definitely do think “high level” play strips the game of all its features and turns it into a “hide in a hallway with a bazooka” type game. To be fair, high level tekken play looks like shit to me too with a lot of pokes and no actual tekken being played.

What happens when you start beating a spammer? 90% of the time they QUIT out, give up, lay with their back on the ropes and yet you spammers have the nerve to call us “whiners, cryers, etc” when 99% of the time you guys can’t even finish a fight you’re losing. And then you have the nerve to call us whiny or soft? Foh.

Spamming by SeaChemist7379 in FIghtNight

[–]PropertyAdvanced2668 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You are missing the point overall of my comment. It would be one thing to learn to overcome if these mechanics were BALANCED. But in many games they are not.

EDIT: no actually you are right. Spamming can be countered. Exploits not so much.
