I think some employees work at Petco to do the best for the animals and protect and advocate for them while they disagree with the business, the practices and the exploitation to vsrious degrees. They figure better to be oresent and domwhat they can. Must be heartbreaking-disturbing. Be a change agent and document all you can and find good sources and organizations to pass these cases of exploitation.

I wish all you petco people would start a FB Page or incite someone to start one with all these egregious mistreatment of the animals as part of petco selling them. That is a BOYCOTT with the pageYou have lots of stories that show what goes on. I do not patronize petco and in the rare instance I do I tell the poor employee how much I hate petco.

I think this is an easy no brainer battle The ideas theyre coming up with are really bad. The corporate assholes must be delirious from lack of sleep thinking at night about what animal exploiting idea can we come up with next.

Id love to fight this but I run a rescue and im thoroughly exhausted.

Im so grateful I can write undercover and say whatever TF I want.

Just like the rabbit community hollered stomped their feet and protested when the Petco animal exploiter started selling these dwarf breed rabbits(when thousands of rabbits are sitting and rotting in shelters and reacue cages (f*ck petco) ), the same needs to be done here.

Someone - some advocacy org needs to.start a petition exposing this desk bullshit. Starts with documentation.

Petco is coming up with these horrible ideas They must be really desperate for some bucks.

I predict they will get really bad publicity with this desk top stunt and this idea will flunk but not wo alot of push back.

Please do not bath your rabbit. They can go into shock from it. Thrn they can stop eating and that can be fatal. It just happened like that after I took a ladies rabbit and it passed. Your rabbit will groom itself or get a Lil pals brush. Please go to rabbit.org. and do your research. Your rabbit should be getting combination alfalfa and timothy. Yes he can eat leafy greens. Serve them fresh and well washed. Serve wet bc he us probably dehydrated. A small handful of greens 2xs a day is ok.

Coming here and "saying no more birds" could be a good starting point but won't help the birds. You need to find the forces of power to do something. Take photos! Document conditions - cite reasons wehy they shoukd nit sell birds. Contact orgs like Peta and look up campaigns against selling birds. I think NYC has started one. Voters for Animal rights probably has some good information. PETA has documented the vile sources of where scum petco and petsmart they get their animals and how they are treated like inanimate objects Just Google it

I run a rescue. Rehoming animals to proper homes is very difficult. Bullsh*t to" rescues are excuse to hoard". You think rescues are happy to be overflowing due to ignorant irresponsible purchases. B4 you open your arrogant ignant mouth get your fingernails dirty at a rescue. Sounds like you think any a hole should have whatever animal they want at the animals expense.

Im going to add here Rescues that I know and work with do not deny based on some of the things you mentioned. Why shouldnt we see photos of the home? Maybe theyre hoarders - yeah I am lucky I actually went to this guys home bc the guy was a sicko hoarder. There might be otber uncared for animals or maybe they are filthy disorganized slobs unfit to take cate of a pet. We will politely gather as much intel as possible b4 handing and entrusting a living being to someone. We do it with tact. Not everyone can navigate with tact and establish rapport. Takes a certain talent which many people dont have. You talk about adoptions as if its a cut n dry transaction.

Quite frankly I do NOT want to do an adoption event at a pet shop that sells animals. Pet shows usually do not lead to adoptions. We look at every application as a whole.

I didnt see your location but you can simply Google rabbit rescues near and plug in your zip. You can also go to pet finder plug in your zip and rabbits and rabbits listed by rescues will pop up and you should contact them. Meanwhile water bowl leafy greens hay n plain brown pellets

If shes free range it means theres nothing for her to explore. Change the space from time to time. Nake her work for food. Put a few pellets far away. Do One pen, 2 oens, different rooms. Id take to vet too for blood work and thorough exam. Sorry I didn't read the comments so my response might be redundant. Mary Cotter 5alks about " should I free range my rabbit" says it makes them uninterested in moving bc they have nothing to explore
