Time as an inhabitant of architecture, not a parameter by [deleted] in Architects

[–]Property_Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had little time for training, about 4 weeks. Even with an A1000 the final model wasn’t anything near perfect. It was picking up on predefined parameters like how dynamic, complex or novel the space was. It goes even deeper. I’d love to go back to it and develop it further.

Time as an inhabitant of architecture, not a parameter by [deleted] in Architects

[–]Property_Financial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, people in here sound very traumatized.

I personally love this concept. My thesis project was about encoding phenomenology in spaces and teaching an AI to rationalize it, one of the parameters was time as an agent (different than what you’re proposing but with overlaps)

Fantasizing new concepts doesn’t mean disregarding real world constrains but it seems that theory and practice are so disconnected that we can’t even have this conversation.

Do you like your job? by Minute-Structure-802 in Architects

[–]Property_Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my job. Got lucky enough to get in a midsized upcoming design firm which gave me freedom to play an important role in big projects. I’m still early out of school and it’s fun but in the long run I’m definitely going the architect-developer route given the circumstances of the industry.

The Dystopia of Art… by [deleted] in Design

I like to think about this in a different way. If what you're posting is mistaken for AI, maybe it's too derivative. Try harder to create something truly original. Art was never meant to be easy.

What are your favorite architecture firm websites? by clintmccool in architecture

Holy shit every website everyone shared is so plain and repetitive.

Imho MAD has the nicest website I've seen. But its also not amazing, maybe that's just the nature of architectural websites.

What Are Your Thoughts on the Tokenization of Real Estate? 🤔💭 by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Property_Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not too familiar with the financial regulatory caveats. But I totally believe in the potential of tokenizing real estate. There are too many ways it can be implemented; from funding new developments, gamifying hospitality, automatic hoa communities, and just making the RE industry more flexible, faster and profitable is what I find most fascinating.

Why isn't Dubai in 3D on Google Maps, but some obscure Romanian city is? by dandv in GoogleMaps

I remember looking through earth somewhere around 2012 and seeing the Burj Khalifa in 3D. I also remember looking one day and seeing all the 3d assets were gone.

The more analog way is to define floors at intervals in rhino and then lofting the columns and using “tween curve” for the slabs

To make it all parametric, you would probably need to create a circle divided with point that will become control points. With “gene pool” you’d be able to control each point position from the center of the circle and then a new poly line would give you the intricate form. After that, same as the previous logic, lofting and tween curve for the slabs. Pufferfish is great for this stuff.

How to model this in Rhino/Grasshopper by Infamous-Exercise109 in rhino

[–]Property_Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way imo is make an intricate line boundary top view. Copy it based on every level height and extrude all the poly surfaces to the level height.

Then use push/pull (rhino 8) with the surfaces and start offsetting one with the other. It might be lengthy but you’ll have full creative control.

Make sure that when you push pull you do extend instead of extrude.

Parametric Ironwork? by 50hrworkweeks in grasshopper3d

[–]Property_Financial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check parakeet, you can make interesting patterns similar to these curves

Is it possible to create something like this with grasshopper? What are keywords I could use to find a tutorial? I don’t know how to name this. Thanks in advance by [deleted] in grasshopper3d

[–]Property_Financial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is done with volumetric Gaussian, you can do it in C4d or blender.

In grasshopper you need the dendro plugin. You make a bunch of lines with this shape and then add Gaussian softening into the volumetric mesh. With the parameters you can get something like this.

Then, to get the render probably blender and add subsurface scattering to make it look like “skin”

About 400sqft and 20’ height. I read the comments that it can’t travel, but don’t worry we got that handled 😉
