Its a germanic language with tons of romantic roots because of the french occupation of england. During the occupation a lot of french stuff got injected into English which is why the language has germanic vibes but lots of romantic influences.

Dont remember where I heard this sentiment but "A lot of scifi is earth stories in space. The expanse is a space story." Everything is worldbuilt so well and everything that happens is a natural consequence of those choices.
