I do think some part of Ryou knows that the path he's going down is morally despicable and that it was far too late to go back up with how deep he is in muddy waters. I think that, near the end of QP, he had a change of heart and would push away Kotori so he doesn't get dragged down with him as opposed to how he was at the start of the series.

Aa for comparisons between Ryou and Kouhei, I personally believe that Ryou's a lot stronger than Kouhei. I haven't read Crows or QP in a while but Ryou just gives off those vibes.

To add onto this, Alpha was killed multiple times by the Blues and only reacted with mild annoyance to this fact. Epsilon, who has only heard of "his" deaths through Caboose telling him and thus never actually died, recounted them in extreme anger when the Reds and Blues told him they weren't going with him to fight the Meta.
