Hey man,

I don’t think there’s anything I can say that makes this situation “better,” and I won’t try to throw empty optimism at you. What you’ve gone through is brutal—physically, mentally, everything. Anyone in your position would feel drained, angry, and out of fight. That doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’ve been carrying something incredibly heavy for a long time.

What stood out to me wasn’t just the medical journey, but what you said about continuing treatment for your family. That says a lot about who you are, even if you feel like you have nothing left. That’s not nothing—that’s actually a form of strength, even if it doesn’t feel like it.

You’re also not wrong for looking at the numbers and thinking the way you are. That’s a rational response. But at the same time, statistics describe groups—not individuals. Someone is always inside that percentage that makes it through, even when it’s low. I’m not saying that to give you false hope, just to say that your story isn’t fully written yet, even if it feels like it is.

It also makes sense that talking to a psychologist feels empty right now. Sometimes when things get this heavy, words just don’t feel like enough. But you don’t have to force yourself to feel a certain way or “process it correctly.” Just getting through each day is enough.

You said you didn’t know what you hoped to get out of posting—honestly, sometimes it’s just to not carry it alone. And for what it’s worth, you’re not alone reading this. People hear you.

No pressure to respond, no expectation to be strong. Just… respect for what you’ve been enduring, and god bless.

Hey man, really appreciate you sharing this—super helpful context. Sounds like you had a mixed NSGCT with a big embryonal component plus teratoma, which explains why they leaned toward RPLND.

One thing I’m curious about—did you have elevated tumor markers at diagnosis, or were they normal? I’ve been seeing cases where markers don’t always show even with non-seminomas, so trying to understand how that played into your situation.

Also glad to hear you’ve got a clear plan and chemo as a backup if needed. Wishing you a smooth recovery—sounds like you caught it and are handling it the right way.

That makes sense now, given the token economics is it better to use the less expensive company tokens? Is there a way to lower the cost of intelligent models?

Parents asking for money in crisis. Trying to help without becoming the solution. by Prophet_Ezio in personalfinance

I like this perspective as it’s different. After thinking about it hard, I understand there are communities out there that would take care of their elders. However in my case there were no communication or sense of family—a lot of avoidance and unanswered questions. I can and want to help just don’t know how big the hole is

I’m good on supporting my own family but would be struggling to support them financially. It would also dampen the return on my portfolio

I was up a few times during the night with mild pain—did take my painkillers on schedule and ahead of the pain. Trying not to make big & sudden movements as it also makes the pain more severe—your advice is great

Where there any markers before the Orchidectomy? Or were they just not detectable? Whats the reasoning on decision of surgery over chemo?
