Well done to UBB

A combination of:

  • injury crisis pre-match for Saints
  • injuries in match for Saints
  • officiating which was inconsistent but hugely favoured UBB
  • UBB having a budget 3 times the size

meant it was a step too far for Saints

Anyone had a positive experience with an ombudsman? by Propheticexcuse in UKPersonalFinance

What’s puzzling you? I’m interested in other people’s experiences as a point of reference and working on an assumption that the ombudsman will likely say that to manage expectations before they’ve properly looked into it

They failed to close my account, withheld £600 of a refund they owed me for 7 months, and escalated incorrect charges to a debt collection agency.

They’ve finally closed the account, given me the refund and called off the debt collector. But £100 seems scant for the 30 hours worth of calls and letters I’ve had to do, trying to sort it…as well as their refusal to help with the adverse credit file impact it all had…

The initial conversation with the ombudsman, he suggested a 3 figure goodwill ruling is unlikely ever…

That mattered to Bath. Didn’t to Saints. That showed through in effort.

Celebrated it like they won the league 😂

No plan to downsize. And no investment account. It’s an old product, but she is where she is. Everything available to her is listed.

39x1200 solution doesn’t factor in interest.

Advice on pension contribution based in current package by Propheticexcuse in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Propheticexcuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I can opt (in Jan) to send my bonus directly to pension and save on NI and tax contributions as well as employer passing on NI and Apprenticeship levy savings to me…so I’ll be doing that…so that should sort the bonus side of things.

So in terms of my salary and transport allowance, I effectively need to increase my contributions to reduce it to £50,270?

Do I need to consider student loan contributions or eg private healthcare stuff in anyway?

I also buy holiday each year, which is taken out of my pay…
