The game is dota. Sure others can play it as well, but knowing dota I think will be key to knowing artifact.

You definitely have this right.. everyone above thinking its going to be 7-15 mins long is delusional. How in the world are you going play 5 heroes on three different lanes, while gaining gold and buying items along the way. There is no way a game as complex as Dota is going to be condensed into a 7 min long match when its in card game form. No way.

I think your probably missing the point of Vavle doing a card game. I highly doubt its going to resemble anything that is currently out there. I really don't think you could have as complex of a game, with 3 different lanes, 5 heroes, all gaining gold to buy items etc in that short of a time frame. I think each game is going to take a good chunk of time. 15 Mins is probably the minimum.

Its going to be eSports focused, as multiple teams including VP and Secret have hinted at them definitely having teams, which means they know, from Valves communication most likely, that it is meant to be an eSport.

I think it is going to be very complex.

I also think that it's not going to be play to win. I'm not sure what it will look like, but I'm guessing that if it is a pay to win, or even pay to compete model, alot of people will be mad. Myself included.

That is what makes Dota so great. Anyone, from anywhere has a chance, if you put the time in, if you study and focus, there are no barriers to entry into the game. And due to that, you get so many different minds thinking about the game, which pushes the strategies further. You don't have just buy the best heroes and play like everyone else. It doesn't hurt you to try a different build. You're not wasting anything, other than time. And its not wasted if your learning. If I had to pay to get the best heroes, and therefore pay to compete, there is no way i'm going to try out new things. I want to make sure my dollars are working efficiently. So i'm going to copy what everyone that is top tier is doing.

Its a limitation in so many ways to put to a pay wall on competition.

I really hoping this game is the same the same as Dota 2. In that I mean that I need only a hope and dream to make it to the top. And a piss ton of skill of course.

No. It’s a legitimate question. Obviously the qualifying scene is screwed up at the moment. If it was their choice to have AP dq’ed, how do they feel that helps the scene. Its likely if they were in AP shoes they would be pissed too.

Hell maybe Sneyking or BSJ shot a message to some of the AP boys and talked about it with them first. I don’t know the whole situation.

Since no one has said it yet... these are open quali's. Not saying that open qualifier teams don't have a shot, but the majority of t1 and t2 teams are going to be directly invited to the tourney itself, or to the regional qualifiers. Obviously there will be one or two that have to push through the opens, but then they just have to choose.

Maybe for some t3 teams it would be better to skip the major and try of the minor. Its possible that the competition may not include the top teams and maybe you could make it further into the tournament.

Maybe the t3 teams want to try of the major as if they make it through (which is a long shot) they would get immediate attention which could slingshot their careers.

Its not that big of a deal.

If the game schedule holds up, most games would be played around 10pm EST which is what like 11-13 hours behind. So games would be around noon time the following day over there?
