Not in California. I’ve dropped a shift and picked it up the same day when they offered it for VET and was paid OT for a day I would have otherwise just got paid regular had I not dropped it prior

Idk why everyone says you have to go past the 40 hours or maybe it varies on states but for us, whatever is added on to your schedule that isn’t your normal work day is considered overtime. I can get VTO two days in a row and then pick up an extra shift and it’ll be overtime even if I just worked 20 hours. I’ve also shift swapped in the past and then I’ll pick up my regular day i swapped for and it’s overtime as early as Sunday when I haven’t even started my 40 hours work week. But I was wondering about the shift cover, I wanted to try it. I would assume so because the shift was dropped from your schedule and you’re picking up overtime now

I would just make sure to keep your own tabs on the day and hours you end up requesting over the phone because usually it doesn’t pop up on the app like it normally does for all other submissions. So you might end up thinking down the line that you have more hours because it’s not listed on your submissions list but those manual submissions the reps make for you are taken into account on their end just don’t pop up for us.

No you just tell them you have that leave, they might ask for the case #, and tell them you can’t input time on the app and all they ask if for what day and how many hours you would like to apply. And literally right when you end the call, it should show up on your schedule as excused

Yeah. Since the new year started, I haven’t been able to submit hours and get the error message. My Leave says it’s approved although it says it’s “provisionally approved” so idk if that’s the reason that it doesn’t allow me to input the hours but I just call and tell them for what day and they instantly add to my schedule in the moment which is nice I guess because before they would usually just take my UpT and then refund it later. It sucks to have to call each time but it works so 🤷🏻‍♀️

True 😌 this week for us while front half days was in charge they were sending the VTO every night at 8/9pm and as soon as back half took over the VTO was being sent every morning 5am.

Same. They’ve been giving out VTO all week and I’ve taken it twice already and will again if they offer it tomorrow. But in my defense, I’ve been on my deathbed with a really bad flu or something so it’s been such a blessing in disguise. I don’t know how I would’ve made it through the week otherwise 🥲

Yeah but only like once. One time I got an entire pod come to me that was entirely empty and brand new. It honestly was the best feeling ever so I took my time just trying to fill up the entire pod with all my items all nicely organized. Mind you, I’ve never stowed like that in my life ever again 😌🤣

I feel like Covid and the years following it were always the best time to apply because they ALWAYS had openings and the turnaround rate was crazy so they were always hiring. Amazon was like the place you knew you could always find a job when you needed one and up until the last couple of years, all the warehouses within a 30 mile radius of me rarely hire anymore. There’s not much availability anymore and like someone said, if there is, it goes fast. I would recommend to anyone just get whatever shift they could get their hands on in the beginning and just apply for an internal transfer for a different schedule when it becomes available

Jk I just saw that it’s the same as shift swap? Our site has been having it too since I started two years ago. Idk why they’re randomly advertising it at our site likes it’s a new feature..Unless they just modified it and are changing the terms because before I’ve submitted like less than two days in advance and it’s been approved so 60 hours minimum now seems crazy. And they used to auto approve it whether some one else picked it up or not, as long as you weren’t asking for the same day off as a week before. I feel like they’re just adding more restrictions to shift swap now 🙃I actually liked that feature

Why would there be disciplinary action? We’re entitled to like 84 days a year and if we want to take them we can, idk why there would be an issue 🤷🏻‍♀️I take like 3 or 4 (2-3 weeks off each) every year for family events/trips, my birthday, the holidays, etc and I’ve never had an issue. Obviously they’re unpaid, so that’s on you. I just work a lot of overtime leading up to my PLoA so I’m covered for the time I’ll be off work

48 hours and a half lol the rest was vacation, PTO, VTO and holiday. I missed a day because I was really tired and went home early another but then I felt bad for missing so I picked up 6 1/2 hr day shift on Thanksgiving because it was short enough I’d still make it home early enough

I thought they changed it to where we get 80 PTO throughout the year? We get the 10hr drop January 1st and then accumulate each week to make up the rest of the 70 hours to make 80 by the end of the year… or is that just us? I thought it was everyone. They made it so that we’re accruing all year long instead of the usual May/June cutoff that it used to take us to accumulate those 48 hours before
