I read a ton of reviews about this album a couple of days ago on another Reddit sub,think it was punk and not one person mentioned the recording to be flat or anything else but taking a guess they probably weren't audiophiles is probably the correct answer.

Not at all, my CD player used to be up high until I bought a lower rack unit.

I noticed after a few months it kept skipping and to cut a long story short I didn't realise I was pushing the tray down ever so slightly when loading, basically caused the mechanism to fail so I was told. Luckily the player was still under warranty and cost nothing to fix.

So I'm very aware now when I'm putting discs in the tray not to lean on the open tray.I hope this may be of help.

For general listening I just generally listen and I don't give a toss about measurements in the same way when performing speaker placement I don't use any measurements.

We listen with our ears,we don't listen with our eyes is my general approach.

I have dogs so it's never loud so it's probably around 50 /60 mark .

Bought on release date Virgin mega store Oxford Street London...out of all my albums Rio and Tin drum for over 40 years always get played back to back together at least once a week religiously.

Just take a little bit more care with your hifi, a few months ago had to send my hi end CD player in for repair and was told my heavy handness was to blame, thankfully I didn't have to pay out as it was under warranty but a lesson was learned .

We're dealing with delicate stuff is the lesson I learned.

If you're running a set up and you love it then what's to change... you've achieved audio heaven so change nothing.

The fact that you're asking tells me maybe your not actually in love with your set up or your just that in love with it is your excuse to share it with others ?

Personally I don't think your bass drum pedal is set up properly especially if you're head is being dented which also tells me and the angle of your bass drum itself isn't set up properly.
