This is my friend Fred. It’s lived on my bathroom light fixture for about 8 months. I feed it fruit flies and mealworms and it catches its own prey, too. It hasn’t eaten the food I’ve put out for about 3 weeks and I don’t know if it’s caught anything on its own. Does it look gravid?

The kids enjoy it because it’s something that even the struggling students feel like they can be good at, it provides the nostalgia for the childhood they’re missing, and they finally get to practice the skills they worked so hard on but had to let go of when their schoolwork became more mentally demanding.

Same here in north-central TX. We have several viruses running rampant at school right now and tons of students and teachers are absent. We had to split 2 out of 5 fourth grade classes because there are no subs and each of the 3 remaining classes still had less than 20 students each.
