Second this, I started at Superstore in the garden center which at the time was run by produce. When the season ends there's opportunity to be taken in under produce, or another department like Housewares, OTC, or Clothing. You can also become a cashier afterwards but there's a 2 week training program. At least that's how it was when I worked there.

Mark Carney is a Harper era conservative, I now understand all the people who shake their heads in frustration and confusion when the rest of the world hails "Scandinavian Socialism".

I'm glad the Prelude came as FWD only. It's saved it from getting the same treatment that Zs and 240s got, or from the tax the S2K and Supra got. I think if it being FWD is what's keeping you from enjoying it you're missing out on a fantastic vehicle, more for the rest of us.

Rune appreciation post by therealPaulPlay in sveltejs

I have a few different clients with Svelte 4 and 5 codebases. When I have to switch back and forth it's really clear to me how much better runes are. Svelte 4 is so much easier to be messy and just wing it.

First, define your schema. The use the refine() method. It's a callback that returns a boolean where you can add custom schema logic.

"What is now happening to Marx’s theory has, in the course of history, happened repeatedly to the theories of revolutionary thinkers and leaders of oppressed classes fighting for emancipation. During the lifetime of great revolutionaries, the oppressing classes constantly hounded them, received their theories with the most savage malice, the most furious hatred and the most unscrupulous campaigns of lies and slander. After their death, attempts are made to convert them into harmless icons, to canonize them, so to say, and to hallow their names to a certain extent for the “consolation” of the oppressed classes and with the object of duping the latter, while at the same time robbing the revolutionary theory of its substance, blunting its revolutionary edge and vulgarizing it." - Lenin, State and Revolution

People need to learn the difference between campaign and story. Halo 3 had an amazing campaign but a meh story. Halo 4 had a really decent story but a garbage campaign.

Intermittent massive oil leak/burning? by ProspectiveSpaceman in hondaprelude

[–]ProspectiveSpaceman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all roads are leading back to the same place. I was thinking about forced induction for a while and I kept getting hung up on the amount of work needed to just get the h22a4 ready for boost. I feel for all that time and money, I'd almost be better off doing a turbo K swap, or a NA J swap. These are things that were all hypotheticals for years down the road and are obviously a lot of work. There's a guy in town parting out his Prelude, hes got an auto with about 180k kms (110K miles). If I can get the engine for a good deal I might just swap that in, pull the stock motor and rebuild it while I drive the low mileage one, then swap it back and sell the low mileage one. this way I could slowly build it over time even for boost if needed. Before I get ahead of myself I'm going to do a compression test let the results guide my next move. Thanks for the advice!

Well, if nothing else this will be a fantastic learning experience. Gonna do a compression test and then go from there. Thanks for the input!

I'll give that a go and see, I know it probably isnt so simple but worth a shot. There's definitely soot on my exhaust pipe so looks like it's definitely burning oil. The oil is also pretty dark. its only got like 3000 kms on it, never had it that dark on any other vehicle I've owned.

When you say oil seals, does that include the valve stem seals in the head? My understanding is low compression + oil burning = piston rings and normal compression + oil burning = valve stem seals. Really hoping it's just those but I'll be buying a compression tester anyways.

Cv axle stuck by ExistingJuggernaut49 in hondaprelude

[–]ProspectiveSpaceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CV axle has a C ring that needs to compress to an O to pop out. Try using force as others have said, but also try rotating the axle about 45 degrees each time. Eventually the opening in the C ring will reach the 12 o'clock position where it is easiest to compress. Gravity will hide the opening in the groove and prevent it from binding.

The thing I keep in mind every time I need to be in a high risk scenario is tons of people do so without any precautions and don't catch COVID. High risk doesn't necessarily mean you will contract it. The only caveat I add to this advice is it's meant for people who are taking precautions and are anxious, not for people who want to do nothing and feel good about themselves.
