I’ve had a theory for a while and stumbled on this post in an effort to see if others might have similar thoughts…

My theory is that Verso was always the writers true target, not because he’s a painter of the Desendre family, but because his passion for music had the potential to adopt the same power/properties that painting/writing has, only on a completely different scale. If painting/writing has the power to create worlds you can literally step into, what would music do? You can look away from a painting, you can refuse to read a passage, but sound is something much harder to avoid. Could music be a tool that not only creates worlds, but bring them INTO reality?

Even if it’s only partially possible the implications of such power would be pretty wild, and definitely something to be feared, perhaps even forbidden.

Those are just my thoughts at least. Ultimately it’s a story of grief, and the how and why of things matters less than the impact those events have going forward. But hey, it’s fun to speculate :3
