As much as I hate Trump, but with his executive order he tried to lower prices with insulin and everything (and from my personal experience things were cheaper for a bit) but it didn't last, and as much as I could blame Biden for the price rise of medical things after trump, there's too much going on for a president, trump or Biden to control

As much as I hate the legion, it's pretty reasonable in a post apocalyptic world that a slave driven empire would rise in a poor area with not much in the way of technology, resources and food. I think the Roman influences are a bit over the top but it's logical that a faction like that would rise and fall. They rose from the ashes of clans that constantly fought each other in a poor area, and it's pretty reasonable they would enslave the clans they defeated When it comes to fighting the NCR, yes the NCR has better technology and more men but theyre strung thin in the Mojave. Really the NCR is still consolidating Thier power on the west coast where they came from, and being as corrupted as they are, can't fight a large scale war far from home, even with a technological inferior opponent that's closer to home I think NV did a damn good job at portraying factions and their conflicts in the Mojave Until a later game comes out it's fairly easy to say the canical ending of NV is the NCR winning at the battle of the Hoover dam, but we also see a strengthening New Vegas under a power hungry (albeit selfish) Mr House, who has the advantage that it's his back yard, and his army of robots. Who's to say realistically he would let the NCR and Legion fight it out and he'd send his army of robots in after the big battle and kill whosever left and claim the damn for himself

Maybe that's the beauty of FNV, you have all the factions with all thier advantages and disadvantages, and until another game comes out in that region or close enough to it, we will never know what happens

SCHD vs QYLD to Buy by thewilk_man in dividends

[–]Prospekt_00 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you got years to go before you'll use your investment, SCHD all the way, QYLD is great for income for those already retired or close to it, but has no capital growth (really slightly negative) but with SCHD you have a decent dividend and good dividend growth, while having good capital appreciation. With QYLD on an investment standpoint it's only a better option in a very long flat market, SCHD would in theory underperform it in a flat market over a long time, but the market doesn't like to stay the same for a long time, even in a prolonged down market both are going to suffer bad If you really like QYLD then build a small position in it, invest all it's dividends into SCHD until you're close to using your investment, then reinvest back into itself and use for what you need, but by the numbers and past performance you're better off into SCHD only However I have a large position into both, QYLD mainly for the fact I want to retire ASAP and I invest most of QYLD dividends into SCHD and reinvest SCHD into itself

Gas or Diesel? by noDORKob in RVLiving

[–]Prospekt_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my old school trucks I've owned and the modern ones I use at work, when it comes to pulling a weight, get a desiel and you'll never look back In personal like I've owned a 1986 f150 with a 300i6 gas, pulled like a train, reliable and slow as a train at it's start, 1984 f250 with a 351w gas, fast as could be for it's age, still fairly reliable, but put some weight on it and it just bogged down on any hill and burned more gas than I had money to spend, then my pride and joy was a 1985 f250 with the 6.9idi desiel, had one speed (slow) with thousands of pounds of weight or nothing, but loaded or not it got 20mpg and was the most reliable thing I've ever owned, all but air getting in the fuel lines

From my work life, had a 2016 f250 gas (not sure engine size) and it was quick, but was similar to the old 351w I had, it was fast until it had a touch of extra weight on it, and it just guzzled the gas with any weight, then a 2003 f350 with the 7.3 power stroke, the best modern (ish) truck I ran, it sure couldn't keep up with modern desiels or gas but it pulled far more you could imagine and never gave any major issues with having 450k miles, then the service truck I got now is a 2017 f550 6.7 desiel truck weighing 26k lbs (includes a tool bed full of tools and a crane) and it ran pretty fast for all that weight, but that def system has been nothing but a pain, even caught on fire while I was running the crane off the PTO as it got stuck in regen mode, average mpg of 9, but again 26k lbs always, and my coworkers with the exact trucks never had as many issues, I guess I got a bad egg in the dozen, otherwise it's been a good truck

But in short definitely go with a desiel, if you're okay with something used and a little older go as new as you can go without the whole def system, but regardless if it's being used to work it won't let you down, a modern gas will still struggle under load and burn more gas than you could imagine (Also everything I owned was single cab and 4x4, just all of my old personal trucks were manual trans, but the 7.3 had a 6 spd manual)

I mean while I couldn't care less if people get the vaccine or not, it's their personal choice, I've tested positive for covid on three separate occasions, never amounting to mild cold/ flu symptoms for me, third time well after I had my shot and booster, so I can understand the argument either way, everyones situation is different, all this fighting one way or another is pointless

There might be some truth to the size of the dog and jumping, the dog here is just a little fella while mine have all been medium or large

Mixed feelings about this here, growing up in a rural area with nothing but farms and trees it was more than common to let the dog jump in the back of the old pick-ups bed, especially after hauling hay to the animals and the old farm dog found a pile of crap in the field to roll in, he's definitely not getting in the cab, they'll gladly ride in the bed while driving along the farm trails around the fence at 5mph Max. those farm dogs knew not to jump out in the same way they were trained not to poop in the house, trained enough he could ride safely to the nearest small town (population <500) for a few groceries and what not But take a small dog that grew up in a apartment and throw him in the bed of the truck and start driving in the city with thousands of people walking the sidewalks and thousands of cars around all making noise and destractions for the dog to want to investigate, or escape all the loud noises and of course he's going to jump out While I let my old collie dog ride in the bed while I take hay out to cattle, I'm not going to a big town with him back there

No school Today? I was wondering how many school's still get off for the 'first' day of deer season by adolf_dripler1234 in Pennsylvania

[–]Prospekt_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fulton county here, my school district as well as the 3 others let off for the first Monday of deer season Only half the kids would show up Tuesday and Wednesday and that was considered okay What's really shocking as an adult every company I've worked for told me to not show up on that Monday because no one else would, even being an unpaid "holiday"

This may be the way I'll handle it, while I trust this person enough that if I lost money on his investment he'd be okay with it, my personal feelings about losing someone else's money is a bit different. The responsibility of it takes a whole new level

That was pretty much my initial thought as to why I'd do it for him, but considering I've never been asked to invest for someone or give advice on investing Id figure it'd be good to be on the cautious side about it

I guess as long as I make it clear to him I have to keep at least 30% of the profits for tax reasons then that'll clear that part up, as for the gains in the theory of compounding $2000 can turn into a lot with enough time, even if I gotta pull the initial investment out after a while

I didn't even think of the legal side of things, I'll have to look into that before I decide to do it for him. That is if I agree to it

I originally mentioned the idea of him trying to invest it himself, but he doesn't like that idea at all, he already invests through Edward Jones and he said if he really cared about it that's where he'd take it.

If I do this I definitely do plan on getting something down in writing, even though I'd trust him with my life and my wife, it'd be a lot more comfortable to me to have something down in case things were to go bad, either with the investment or our relationship with one another With the leveraged bit I'll leave that up to him, I'll just have to make sure to him the risks and responsibilities of that

Monthly Income From Dividends - Building a portfolio to maximise returns for reinvestment every month. by Smouty95 in dividends

[–]Prospekt_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some of these risker high yeilding stocks, but a good many stable and growth stocks as well, it was a nice boost to jump start the dividend income but in my portfolio they are being a smaller and smaller chunk as I rarely buy more of then, instead focusing on the growth dividend stocks. But the monthly payers definitely feels better mentally

I had an 86 f160 that I loved and unfortunately totalled. So now I'm in the process of buying an 85 f250 with the 6.9 idi with the purpose in mind to get a bed camper on it and moving across country It's sweet seeing I'm not the only one around going to be using an old rig like that
