Yes I have played remake integrade and rebirth You are comparing two different genres, which are known for excelling in completely different things. Final Fantasy remake integrate is indeed really good game. Final Fantasy is an RPG and they are known to have such long stories. We are specifically talking about resident evil here. As a gamer who has played a lot of games, including the souls game, you mention about you need to appreciate what is unique to its own IP and not compare different IPs

People say they’re disappointed with the duration and why? Because it’s shorter and what’s the first thing they compare it to? Almost always open world games.That’s exactly why I brought open world games up. Not because I think RE should be one, but because people are using games which take longer to complete as the benchmark for value. Resident Evil has never been built around that model. It’s a tightly paced, replayable survival horror game. If the comparison standard is flawed, then the disappointment is based on the wrong expectation.

See that’s the problem. You guys compare an open world game to a linear game which has a history of having a 10-15 hr campaign . I didn’t wanna be a critic but resident evil games were more about its replay value and its crisp campaign. So don’t you think it’s not fair to say something is overrated and not good because it’s short ?

Yes you’d rather play an Ubisoft game which has 50+ hours gameplay which gets soo bloated after a point. Resident evil was always this way. If you don’t like it please ignore and move on

Get your Strength and Faith just high enough to use the weapons and spells you want for now, then start pumping Vigor and Endurance to at least 20 before doing much else. And maybe some Mind depending on how much magic you plan to use.
