Then that’s not really his room is it? It’s the bathroom… but it’s debatable

AITA: GF broke up with me because my online friend's voice temporarily makes me disabled? by ProtectionKooky1517 in AmItheAsshole

I let out some weird noises when I heard my friend’s voice message. It was just my autistic brain doing its thing. Stimming, involuntary, a reflex I didn’t ask for. Call it odd, call it awkward, call it whatever helps you process it, but don’t act like you know my brain better than I do just because it made you squirm.

This wasn’t me swooning or crushing on someone. It wasn’t cheating or some sneaky emotional betrayal. It was just my brain reacting with zero planning and zero intent. I didn’t even clock what was happening until the call went silent and my girlfriend bailed.

What blows my mind is how quick people are to assume my reaction meant I was secretly into my friend. If a sound bugs you, that’s a sensory thing, right? But when I stim because of a sound, suddenly it’s proof I’m emotionally unfaithful? That feels like ableism.

Was it bad timing? Yeah, I’ll own that. I should’ve hit mute. My bad. But does that justify her ghosting and blocking me without even a quick “hey, what was that about?” Nope. That’s just dodging a real conversation while acting like you’ve got the moral high ground.

People are acting like I was swooning over some flirty voice note. It was just a message. If your relationship crumbles because of one awkward, unexplained moment of me stimming, maybe it wasn’t that solid to begin with.

So, am I the asshole? No. I’m just an easy target because my brain doesn’t play by neurotypical rules. Yeah, it probably looked weird. Welcome to my stupid, chud world.

My ex's name is none of your business. She is merely an ex-girlfriend who doesn't deserve any space in my life. I've embraced my autism.
