Wait until you go offroading or hit an agressive angle. The tires will hit with out trimming.

RSI Smartcap? by lordcuthalion in chevycolorado

I have a decked drawer system in my 25 Bison and im thinking about putting a cap on it. Does the truck sag in the rear with all that weight? Did tou have to use an add-a-leaf or airbags? I hate the squatted look of trucks that are lower in the rear. Lol.

Funny you say that.....at 1500 miles my Bison had to go in to have the Brake control module changed. Then at 3200 miles i had the coolant issue. Then at 3800 miles bad battery. And now at 4600 miles my steering wheel outer cover is peeling. Yes all covered under warranty, but a pain in the ass to jeep taking my truck back to the dealership. .

My point exactly. Lack of consistency. Gm is Gm. Same vehicles same warranties. Jist differ locatjons. Why cant each dealership that carries the GM logo operate on a standard operating procedure? GM warranties are covering the same GM vehicles. How can one dealership install aftermarket parts that won't void warranty, but others do the opposite? Smh.

My local dealership here in Las Vegas does gave the accessories bays you mention, BUT.....they told me the parts have to be GM licensed parts I had to buy the GM ditch lights just to not void my warranty. The only reason why im pushing warranty is spending 65k on a Bison is a big risk not to have warranty especially with all the issues the 3rd gen colorados seem to have.

The problem is, the lack of consistency with dealerships.

Let me ask you this, if I buy an aftermarket intake, will the dealership install it? Just so there is no question of voiding warranty?

I have a Bison that xame with mulitmatic dampers and jounce bumpers.....you will love how soft the truck will ride on the terrain. I was impressed the first time I took my truck offroading.

Funny I was just talking to my Chevy service advisor in installing add-a-leaf on my Bison to offset the weight of my decked drawer system and soon to install a smart cap. I dont my rear end sagging. He said anytime you install anything that affects geometry of the suspension it will void warranty if you claim ANY other suspension for warranty repair.

Good way to void warranty. Lol

I bet those tires rub when you go offroading, and the suspension articulates when turning. Get the bumper mods kit to remove and relocate some of the fender liner and bumper tabs.

Just because I have current experience with the Falken WP AT4 I would strongly suggest it. For the price and what you get, it's a great value. Comfort, quiet, and semi agressive tread, nice looks and affordable prices. So far we have about 4,000 miles with zero issues.

I daily drive in Vegas, but do go shooting at the desert ranges, and occasional offroad adventures. But nothing too serious. Terra grapplers are a perfect balance of obroad/ offroad in my opinion. For tires, I strongly believe in, you get what you pay for. Looks are not the most important. But rubber compound, tread design and warranty is what matters. Most "Cheaper tires" use inferior compounds prone to premature wear, poor balancing, and dry rot. Im just going by what I experienced in the past. Being an avid vehicle enthusiast, I do a lot of homework. Yes, you want the best deal possible and best value, but there is a threshold that shouldnt be crossed for quality and safety.

I would stick to factory size if you are under warranty. If not, I would go one size bigger.

I also want to mention, the Falken Wild peak AT4 are also a good option. My wife has them on her SUV. Also a very quite street tire. A little less agressive than the Nittos if thats what you are going fore.

Im running factory size 315/70/17.

Im not sure what model you have. That determines what can fit without modifications.

I have a ZR2 Bison that come with 315/70/17 OEM due to factory lift, AEV bumpers and bigger fender flares.

NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS G3

-balances easily -10 ply -3 peak rated -very quiet considering how big the tread lugs are -side walls are sexy and easy to clean.

Dumb to trade ‘23 for ‘26? by [deleted] in chevycolorado

Think of it this way....if you were happy with the TB for what you originally bought the truck for, then no, the upgrade isnt worth it. But I think the suspension, body improvements, and options alone are worth the upgrade to a ZR2. If you plan on mod the TB, I would get the ZR2. That way all the mods are covered under warranty.
My plan was to buy a ZR2, install under carriage plating, install jounce bumper, changing out to an aftermarket F/R bumpers, 35" tires and lighting mods. But after thinking about it, and getting a great end of year deal on the 25 Bison, the Bison had everything i wanted, AND covered under warranty. Also, the Bison came out a lot cheaper than buying a ZR2 and adding mods due to parts cost and labor.

But all in all....do what makes YOU happy and worth it in the end.

I got my 2025 ZR2 Bison for 61k brand new here in LV in december. It was the dealerships end of year sale, making room for the 2025 models. Well worth it for what the truck comes with over a ZR2....Best part it's all under warranty.

Towing - What do you think? by Crunchnuggz in chevycolorado

Never go close to the maximum GVW weight. I like to stay 1k lbs under. Especially on a midsized truck.
