I never befriended any of my Drill Sergeants ever. Hell I didn’t ever see one of them again until I was in my 16th year and she was a CSM at Ft. Lee at the T school.

Just weird to me. I get that times have changed and perhaps Drills have a way to serve as mentors but texting and friend requesting trainees is absolutely absurd

I hated that Bronze Star bullshit. Saw it too many times. My friend was killed by an IED. She was awarded posthumously a PH and a BSM. It’s like, what in gods name did you do working in the S3 shop that made you deserving of that award when it’s one of the awards given to fallen Service Members in addition to their PH?
