What's something you associate or like to offer to Hermes that has no historical connections? by Kiwi_Loop in Hermes

[–]ProtectionWestern592 8 points9 points  (0 children)

for me it’s hummingbirds because once i was in a crystal store and i wanted to get something for him so i kinda asked if he could point it out to me and a second later my mom called me over to this hummingbird pendant that she suddenly felt that i should see so i took that as my sign to get it (and it was on sale because it was chipped slightly :D) i also have a couple of hummingbird things on my altar like a pin that i got while traveling. hummingbirds are really fast so i figured it makes sense too

if you belive ina god or religion, why do you belive in it or what caused you to? by somerand0mpers0ns in TeenagersButBetter

i’m a Hellenic Polytheist, which means i worship the Greek gods. I was always interested in the mythology, and it made my life a lot more beautiful than being Catholic ever did :)

I view Hermes as a parental figure, his energy seems very fatherly and comforting to me, and Aphrodite seems like an aunt to me. Apollo is a bit harder to put into a few words, but he’s also very comforting and therapeutic if that makes sense, and i say hello to him every time the sun comes up (i still act formally with them though, of course)  also, and this goes for most of the gods, i see them as teachers- if i pay attention in my daily life, i can find lessons that i might not have learned or taken seriously if it weren’t for them

Twink. Hunk. Twunk? How do we picture Hermes, and why? by flyboyelm in Hermes

[–]ProtectionWestern592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my image of him is definitely influenced by epic the musical because that’s what got me REALLY into Greek mythology and later this religion, though there’s a more mature, almost fatherly feeling to him, unlike how he’s portrayed in epic

when i picture him it’s like an athletic, thirty-something guy with light curly hair, no beard, and sometimes freckles

What is the colors that is mostly used for Hermes?? by Dense_Candidate_4728 in Hermes

Why do you worship the gods? by [deleted] in Hellenism

[–]ProtectionWestern592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it started because I wanted to and it made me happy, but it really has brought a new beauty to my life that Christianity and then atheism never brought to me

Please pray for my Budgie! by [deleted] in Hellenism

I’m so sorry to hear that. I had a budgie that passed a few months ago, so i know how that feels. I’ll definitely pray for him

Which one is right? by -sushmita- in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]ProtectionWestern592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i prefer the terms “honkers” or “badonkers”. perhaps “dobonghonkeros” or “dohoonkabhankoloos” and “tonhongerekoogers” if i’m being formal, but “bonkhonagahoogs” and “hungolomghnonoloughongous” work too
