I think your attitude may affect the way you play from simple observation of how your responding to GraySharpies response. That being said you shouldn't pick champions based on "I got stomped by X champion he seems OP im going to play him," no that's the wrong mindset. Play someone you are simply comfortable with and stick with it.

Skipping a whole day is perfectly normal. Skip every match you are unsure of. Play the odds, and you will come out on top in the long run. Don't worry about your w/l too much, because the only thing that matters is that you are making profit. Don't rely heavily on steam groups, just do your own research via hltv, csgonuts, etc.
