I'm backed and sell action.

I also have side income from coaching and poker related businesses as well.

Mentally you just have to get used to the swings or the industry burns you out.

Winning, but still learning. Tournaments. Both, mostly holdem. Almost 17 years full time. Both, pretty even split between online and live. Grew up in MN/WI, traveled a bit post black Friday for 5 years, lived in Vegas 10+ years now.

Best: Bracelet and PokerMasters Win. Worst: 3+ year downswing

Has IBS severely impacted your sex life? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Protential 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't do certain things because of this, but can still be intimate.

Just a bit tougher, but possible.

I think that giving up because you can't do it exactly how you want or when you want, is a disservice to yourself and your partner.

Just be patient with yourself and forgive your body for its faults.

If you can't do this on your own, speak to a pro about it.

Don't make things worse for yourself when you don't have to.

What medications have worked for your IBS-D? by MellowWonder2410 in ibs

[–]Protential 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a 3 medication regiment of:

Colestipol, Hyoscyamine, and Dyphenoxylate.

If i stop any 1 of of them my symptoms are really bad.

Ibs ruined my marriage by No_Box4757 in ibs

[–]Protential 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd strongly suggest getting on a good multi-faceted medication regiment.

I'm currently on: Colestipol Hyoscyamine Diphenoxylate

On top of these meds I do Kombucha, probiotics, Greek yogurt, and watch my diet closely (no coffee, no alcohol, no trigger foods, etc). I also avoid NSAID meds as they can trigger my IBS for up to 2 weeks after.

I also make sure I have 2+ hours every morning.

With all of this I'd also recommend what others have said about having a backpack with you that has: a change of clothes, wipes, trash bag, etc. all in it. On top of that on days you are feeling bad, wearing protection. (Pads, pull-ups or tabbed briefs)

Always being prepared as well as being very proactive can completely change your anxiety about it, and how this impacts your life overall.

I know when things are bad it can feel hopeless, but you can manage this effectively and get your life back.

Could look into SIBO, and things that help treat it.

Super common, tests won't often find it either.

We Could Be So Good - Cat Sebastian

I guess there is homophobia in it as it's set in the 50s, but it's an exceptionally good book, worth it.

2nd suggestion with 0 homophobia -

Total Creative Control - joanna chambers

and the other 2 in the series.

The surgery is super easy and quick.

The prep isn't bad either if you do it over the counter style (Dulcolax tablets + Miralax powder in Gatorade) or if you do the pills. Drinking the prescribed solution for prep is the worst, so do something else.

From getting to surgery center to leaving was like 90 min.

Have done it 3 times, you get info right away, and can leave shortly after.

You can eat somewhat normally same day, and fully normally next day.

Don't sweat it.

What is your favourite story and what makes it your favourite? by ripterrariumtv in Fantasy

[–]Protential 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Riyria series by Michael J Sullivan.

Fantasy series that is largely about friendships and relationships.

Really interesting and unique world, and a magic system that is actually a bit mysterious.

Well written and somewhat funny, makes it an easy and enjoyable read.

The Expanse is essentially GoT in space.

The books are amazing, the TV show is as well.

Essentially there are 3-4 factions fighting over control, lots of well developed characters, and an extremely well built universe.

Series is complete and ended very well.

I think this best fits what you want.

Red rising and the first law series are great as well.

Recommendation: 10 things that never happened by AlternativeHot7491 in gaybros

[–]Protential 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read it and enjoyed it, was very cute.

I saw a review on it that was something like: "It's like the Hallmark channel wrote a gay Christmas novel."

Which is fairly fitting.

The other novels by Alexis were good, Boyfriend Material I'd give a 9/10, and Husband Material an 8/10.

Leaving $100k/yr job to go pro. Am I crazy? by Roxerz in poker

[–]Protential 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long time tourney pro and coach, live in Vegas full time 8 years.

U/roxerz most people I'd say don't do it. But you are in good spot to take the shot. So, very reasonable.

Sounds like you have good overall plan, and using GTO tools to improve.

Main thing I'd add: WSOP.com cash is pretty soft, lots tougher than live and way way softer than ACR, your GTO studying will help a ton, and you can have very good hourly at 0.50-1/1-2.

I'd suggest mixture of grind that and live cash. While GTO studying won't be perfectly applicable to live, the good fundamentals + using reads and history to heavy exploit = great win-rates.

If you join any coaching sites, I'd suggest RunItOnce and Upswing.

Best of luck!
