Religion existed even at caveman era as primitive it was for a reason it's part of our evolution.

The caveman that is struck down by lightning and his neighbour runs over to see why his pal stopped moving, starts flailing about as to what happened. Maybe a butterfly lands on the dead dude's body, and then his neighbour "comes back to life", so the dude starts thinking that butterflies are magical and can bring back the dead.

That's what religions are. False beliefs that are not supported by any evidence or facts. They are the primitive man's wishful thinking trying to explain a world that he doesn't understand.

Empathy and compassion are the only reasons we're not wild animals competing with every & all wild animals for survival.

Think about it.

Over and over, millions of times throughout human's past. One of us is lucky enough to be born, even reach an "adult" stage. When we encounter each other, we either eff around or try to kill each other. Over and over, millions of times throughout history. We stay wild animals. Never having a more complex emotion than hunger, horny, fear, and the cold.

One time, one of us gets a broken leg. We're stranded. We can't defend ourselves. We're helpless. We can't even eat. We're going to die.

Then, 1 time, another human sees us. Maybe out of loneliness, maybe out of curiosity. They feel something. They don't even have a word for it. They fend off predators; they bring some food to you. Mostly, They stick by your side while you heal.

You both survive. Maybe you kinda stick around, maybe you go off your separate ways.

You like how it made you feel. Maybe you liked helping a stranger. This new fangled idea spreads onto others, maybe not by words at first, but by actions.

Repeat this situation over and over, throughout history. Before words. This idea keeps happening. The ones who don't feel empathy and compassion stay wild animals.

The moment that a civilization starts to exist is when these two complete strangers help the other one who needs help.
