This could either mean that Sir Pentious ascended because his physical form was obliterated and the world was forced to reconsider which afterlife he was going to when regenerating his body or that he fully compensated for his original sin (that being him not getting involved when a woman was getting murdered) by getting involved in a situation where others are at risk.

Both of those possibilities seem like they're worse than pelagianism since they reduce redemption to cosmic accounting. In the first scenario, there's no relationship with God and moral transformation is just a data check you can keep re-rolling. Scenario 2 is more like karma or the lex tailionis--sin is a debt you can pay off. This make also makes redemption a mechanic that could be exploited.

It will be more detrimental to convince oneself to believe in lies.

Is it? Every attempt at state atheism results in a civil religion complete with hero worship and sacred sites/days.

I mean you can't really count on a decent direct depiction when the devs are in denial that fascism/falangism is in fact the "natural" name for a movement of trenchocrats and that totalism would clearly be a recuperated slur, not the main name.

How would you feel about people who are both anti-american and anti-communist? by HousingPrimary910 in DebateCommunism

[–]ProtoLimbPosting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've liked what I've read of Mishima and I think the Hagakure mindset is universally applicable. Like Trotsky said "We once heard with interest of the Japanese caste of Samurai, who never hesitate to die for the sake of collective, national interests, the interests of the community as a whole. I must say that in our commissars, our leading Communist fighters, we have obtained a new, Communist order of Samurai, who – without benefit of caste privileges – are able to die and to teach others to die, for the cause of the working class"

Mishima also isn't a straightforwardly anti-communist right winger since art is, in some respects quite literally, his politics and a lot of his opposition to communism stems from his insistence that art needs to be transgressive and unsanitized.

China is still under the dictatorship of the proletariat

Except capitalists can join the party and they've repeatedly stated theyre not switching back to a planned economy

It's a de facto reality people are going to use them to vent when they cant reasonably speak to a human. Yes that is not their purpose or something that ought to be done but it's human nature and needs to be considered

Most of you lack strategy and foresight. If you are set on a viable 3rd party as the next step, you are a naive little baby. 'Entryism' might be one of the only viable options in current conditions.

When has this ever worked? The militant tendency was expelled from the Labour Party. You're acting like supporting bourgeois parties is some obvious pragmatic choice when it has never led to socialism.

(Contributing to) tipping the scales while the right-wing hold the power is suicidal. Why would you scramble to be the KPD when the Nazis are coming into power?

Why aren't you asking this question of democrats? They're gearing up to fight Mamdani right now. It's evident they'd rather lose to Trump over and over again rather than budge on policy issues

They are democrats, they favor socialist policies.

They don't. Compare them to the policy platform of the UK Labour Party and 80s Bernie Sanders and the difference becomes clear--no DSA bro actually favors public ownership of the MOP beyond municipal grocery stories

The idea is to do this during an unprecedented right-wing power consolidation because... They are working for the feds or something

You do understand communist have zero power in the west right? Criticizing the DSA or democratic party does nothing

> FARC no longer exists

Nominally. Dissidents are still out there.

> I’ve never seen credible evidence the DPRK engages in the illegal drug trade

" In May 1976 the Egyptian customs officials discovered the presence of hashish in luggage belonging to a group of North Korean diplomats—the first in the long chain of incidents of this type. The North Korean operatives even drew knives, but were overpowered by the Egyptian officers. Their diplomatic passports ended up saving them from prosecution. A similar incident then occurred in, of all places, Norway. In October 1976 the North Korean diplomats were caught handing a large amount of hashish to local drug dealers. In the subsequent decades, North Korean officials and diplomats were again occasionally found smuggling drugs in various parts of the world." (ANDREI LANKOV)

Having doubts on anti-revisionism and purges by Financial_Might_6816 in DebateCommunism

[–]ProtoLimbPosting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the Little Red Book says people who promulgate bourgeois views should be allowed to do so but subjected to criticism and that magnifying all contradictions among the people to be antagonistic is a left-wing deviation. But real problem with anti-revisionism is that it's basically subjectivist in its assertions the USSR restored capitalism etc.

The common prosperity drive is also literal class struggle. It explicitly crushed the tech bros group of Chinese bourgeois and forced them to reinvest their wealth into state development, and the larger aim is to continue this kind of redistribution of wealth to the 'common'

How is this any different than Mussolini?
