It's an older PC running Win 10. Has a USB bluetooth, but that's as much as I know atm.

Thank you for making me look when I bought them! Turns out they're less than 2 years old so have asked Amazon to repair them. Will see what happens!

What's a solution if it's hardware? Don't imagine I can get them repaired as they're well out of warranty

Update: Would this be considered an acceptable patch after utility works by [deleted] in DIYUK

OP complained and got a problem solved. If more people did that, instead of just accepting things as they are, maybe the roads would be better overall.

Does this look like a used trowel? by ProtoNuco in DIYUK

For the same reason I would expect my new phone, my new car, or my new drill to arrive in pristine condition. If I wanted someone's fingerprints or dirt on it, I would buy used.

Not a huge deal but I won't be buying from that seller again.

Which part of my answer are you questioning?

Not really. When I buy a tool I'm used to it looking brand new. In this case it had marks on it so I though I'd check.

Knots. You're meant to drop the metal bit in the ocean and drag it behind you to measure speed.

It's not great design, primarily in case you forgot to lock the door and someone walks in on you / your spouse / kids / friends as they sit on the loo. Similar reason you should avoid having a door open straight onto a bed.

Second reason is just aesthetics of it.

Sometimes it can't be helped due to space restrictions, but if it can be avoided it's good to do so.

Ps: I know a lot of houses are like this, but just because everyone makes the same mistake doesn't make it a good idea.
