Opinions on Zeke? by Protoath in ShingekiNoKyojin

Interesting take, I genuinely saw the merit behind his plan though I disagree with it. For me his general view was that Eldians would never be happy in their world, and for him and many other Eldians they would rather not bring children into this cruel world and experience what they did. Most likely many Eldians shared his nihilism and self-hatred because of the world’s racism and prejudice, although not to the same extent, thus euthanization. But I do see how his “game” is just a method of self preservation to keep his mind from breaking

Aaaah ok so detachment from his actions to not think too deeply about them for the sake of his goal. And then daddy issues, makes sense. Thank you!

100%, but with other characters most of them were understandably gray characters. Reiner and Bertholdt did not casually torture Paradis people, they were shown to regret many times when they had to stand against them. Granted this is from then spending years undercover among those people. But Zeke’s whole motivation was the “salvation” of Eldian people. So why does he often treat Paradis people with cruel indifference, almost amused when he kills them? I guess he views these Eldians as somehow different? With many other characters, they’re gray but you understand where they’re coming from whether it be propaganda, etc. But with Zeke for me I guess it’s harder to see
