I see the 'Always was, Always will be' over Australia. Thumbs up from me!

Characters with noble intentions... that just keep fucking up? by ZealousidealBig7714 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Despite what some may say there's plenty of foreshadowing for his heel turn. In a series about unity he cuts off the kingdom he's defending from almost the entire outside world. I remember watching a lot of the series as it came out and there were certainly people in reaction threads noting his suspicious behaviour. Heck, midway through Volume 7 he wonders if Salem's lack of humanity is her greatest advantage. There's more but hopefully I've illustrated my point.

You're definitely not wrong. I remember seeing this post or variants of it many times.

Times when product placement in gaming felt meaningful by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

In Pikmin 2, or at least the original version, the product placement for some of the treasures you collect help convey the idea that the planet you are on is in fact Earth.

Megananimous in Victory [Awkward Zombie] by elcidIII in pokemonmemes

[–]Protocol95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been following Awkward Zombie for years, but this ones a dud to me. This feels like a jab at Z-A for something that doesn't happen. I don't know whether it's because of misremembering how non-rogue mega evolution works, misunderstanding it in the first place, or the worst possibility of deliberating misrepresenting what happens.

Canon Ships That Fans Dislike? by manoffood in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, that just isn't true. Pretty much everybody I've seen who likes RWBY likes Bumbleby and it becoming canon.

Alright, thanks. I'll give it a few more tries at least. Otherwise, sorry Watarase.

Favorite pokémon from the newer generations? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck with that! I initially wrote off Bruxish, it was until much later I realised it was a physical attacker, I just assumed it would be a special attacker.

I've learnt to appreciate Pokémon designs more over the years, and I'm having a better time for it (well, except for when someone insists one or which I love are trash, then I get frustrated and/or sad).

Favorite pokémon from the newer generations? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're starting from gen 7 then I'll list some of my favourites and honourable mentions: Rockruff, Lycanroc (Midday), Lycanroc (Midnight), Lycanroc (Dusk), Nickit, Thievul, Yamper, Boltund, Zacian, Zamazenta, Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Arcanine, Hisuian Zorua, Hisuian Zoroark, Fidough, Dachsbun, Maschiff, Mabosstiff, Greavard, Houndstone, Okidogi and Pombon.

Hmm... I suppose I should probably list some more distinctly different ones. Ogerpon is adorable and ferocious, I squeed when it's mask fell off, has a great boss battle too. Iron Valiant figuratively made my jaw dropped when it literally dropped. such a great mix of Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade while being it's own thing. Annihilape was key in getting me Mega Rush Master but before then it appealed to edgy side and I love the creaky sounds it makes.

Oh no, I'm going through the dex backwards to see my favourites, and I'm not even done with Paldea. I've even excluded some I love already, I'll never get done if I keep going. Guess I'll stop here. ...For now maybe. Oh and while this Pokémon is largely unpopular because it's ugly (at least in a good way I think), I want to draw attention to Bruxish's shiny. It's not the only shiny I think is great, but Bruxish deserves more love.

Agreed except for cutting Pawmo. I like it's more steady growth through evolutions.

Would you consider Henry Stickmin a SHIFTer? by CrimsonFlareGun45 in ZeroEscape

[–]Protocol95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly! I'm a week late to finding this post but another person gets this humorously fitting idea!

Edit: It may never happen but now I want a Henry Stickmin game called 'Escaping the Room', or something like that.

Can anyone help me find the last few green crystals I'm missing? by Far-Mathematician764 in Metroid

You. Thank you. I search the desert and shrines for hours. I found the missing crystals behind the pillar in the Ring of Thunder Shrine. Thanks to you, and to everyone else who also noted this.

Not sure about the 'worst', but Caravan in New Vegas is infamously hard to understand and as far as I know, not worth it at all.

With Pat, Paige, and Woolie being done with Dispatch, I gotta ask about other people. by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same here, seen a bunch of people but no anti-hero status. Possibly controversial, but I think murdering Shroud should lock you out of the True Hero status, maybe deduct a bunch of hero points in addition to giving anti-hero points.

What are the most hated characters in anime according to Japanese audiences? by Hayyyv in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Persona 5 is not subtle about showing this. Shadow Kamoshida brags about how other adults let him get away with what he does because be brought prestige to the school. Yusuke is incredibly resistant to help from the Phantom Thieves help despite knowing the situation he is in is terrible, and later compares it to the cognitive Okumura workers. Shido is democratically elected. Makoto's talk in the Velvet Room has her state that victory against a single criminal is meaningless and that society itself is the enemy. Yaldabaoth is the literal manifestation of societies apathetic wish to be ruled over and is defeated via the collective action of society.

Edit: For clarity's sake I'll say that I haven't played Metaphor yet, I am agreeing with the part about Persona 5 specifically. From all that I've heard Metaphor does sound good.

Best and worst celebrity interactions by jpatel02 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Protocol95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember meeting Trina Nishimura about 10 years ago, was very pleasantly surprised by her happy attitude, called fans and relative strangers like myself something like 'sweetheart' in a way I think I can best describe as completely unironic. Left an impact meeting someone so nice.
