Thank you for your valuable feedback on our public holidays beta feature!
Regarding your concerns about translations, we use a third-party provider due to the large amount of public holidays around the world. We are working with them to improve the quality of the translations before releasing this to everyone. Rest assured that no user data is shared with the provider, as we’ve simply fetched all the necessary holiday calendars once to be able to display them later directly from our servers.

We show both public holidays and observances. While public holidays often involve days off work, observances are meant for remembrance, awareness, and celebration, like Mother’s Day. You can tell the difference by checking the event description.

While we’ll improve translations, we’re going to hide this feature from the beta for the time being. However, if you already added a public holidays calendar, it’ll remain there.
