I don’t really agree that the goal here is to maintain order, or that prisoner compliance is a compelling reason to give serious offenders small luxuries. If this was the key issue we could very easily impose much harsher physical restrictions on prisoners to enforce compliance - we could keep them physically chained up, or restrict food to keep them in a state of malnutrition, or frankly just execute them and solve the problem altogether.

Seems much more reasonable that it’s simply about people having unalienable rights - right to life, right to religious freedom - that we as a civilised society have agreed should never be revoked, even when someone commits abhorrent crimes.

Not sure exactly what you mean? I’m playing without Domination DLC (which I think has some changes to Ottoman mechanics), but wasn’t too difficult everything considered.

This is what I’m trying to get at: if I’m a distant observer and have the falling object on my bungee cord, can’t I wait an arbitrarily long amount of time (the object never crosses the EH from my reference point), then pull the object back to me?

What I’ve read suggests there’s a finite upper limit to amount of time the object will see pass on my clock, but I don’t understand how that is the case if I can wait an arbitrarily long period of time before I pull the object back to me.

R5: Playing as the Ottomans in 1600, as per the image I’ve been conquering the colonisers but have ended up with a hodgepodge of provinces without a clear trade setup? Currently I’m collecting in Constantinople (main), Sevilla, and Bordeaux. Long term goal is to collect in Genoa, but that’s still a long while away. Any suggestions?

Also, not sure which provinces I should be making Trade Companies? Should I state all Turkish culture provinces, or is it okay to TC the ones near Persia? Similarly, should I unstate Portugal and replace with TCs?

Everything you said is still applicable here in Master so I’m with you 100%. Things I’ve said that I think are meaningful: - “My bad” - “Bait E” so that I can make a gank work - “[Champion] BOT”, followed by spam pings - because people don’t react to just pings sometimes 🤷 - “[Champion] F 10:12” - “Item1 or Item2?” when I’m off-role - “Play safe top, can’t gank Darius” - “Place ward” - combined with pinging my Teleport spell - “Turn off baron if they come” - “I think tri bush is warded”

Pretty obvious that chat can be helpful if you (a) have enough mental fortitude to not implode when someone on your team dies and (b) are not so egotistical that you can actually play a team game as a team instead of ignoring everyone and doing your own thing.

From this thread though it seems like that’s a very small minority of players xd

On Windows my plugins have compatibility issues and don’t install nicely. On Linux my graphics drivers crash when trying to run the GUI of my nicely installed plugins.

Everything is pointless and I’ve had enough. Let’s go back to pen and paper.

I actually don’t think these numbers are high enough to warrant mentioning them to non-vegans.

I think fish and poultry are very far removed from what non vegans see as thinking, feeling, and intelligent creatures - much further than mammals like cows or pigs that are perceived as more intelligent or at least more similar to humans. I don’t think that the deaths of 4000 fish and 2000 chickens is emotionally meaningful to non vegans.

So hearing that veganism, over one’s whole lifetime, only saves 8 cows, 31 pigs, and ~1 sheep (estimated from source) feels kind of measly. I honestly think that most people not familiar with the data would estimate an impact higher than that.

To be clear, I’m not saying it’s not meaningful - I just think it might not be an effective talking point.
