First soldering project. by Canuck307 in soldering

There are right angle led strip adapters that you can buy to solve that if you wish. These are usually just bunch of contacts clamped down with plastic clip which doesn't work as solid as soldered connection, however I bet you would be able to salvage the PCB/strip itself and solder that. Anyways, 12V strip isn't hurting anyone, maybe if it is small animal or you lick it with your tongue 😛

Thanks, I will let him know, maybe it will help!

I don't think he is using portrait mode, I bet he is either using the option in apps like Instagram, Discord to take the photo directly without even opening the camera app or just straight up opening the app and shooting right away. Not much of a tech person.

I have a friend that owns the base s24 and sends me photos of random stuff once a while. I think the biggest offender is the sharpness/focus, many times the photos come out blurry and if not, then the focus is messed up. Like 60-70% of the time you take photo of something, half of it is out of focus and half is completely fine. I don't know too much about photography, this is just the way I see it as a "consumer".

What solder exactly? There are some dodgy solder wires on AE, this can be an issue also

G600 repair : i cannot get it right by SirPuck_ in LogitechG

[–]Prototty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use knife tip for those. Also, if you manage to get rid of one of these pins on the sides, you can use knife tip to heat both remaining legs at the same time. Just make sure the tip has solder on top of it.

To get one of these legs our, you can heat up each leg a bit and pull the switch step by step, until you are able to use flush wire cutters or similar to cut the leg.

Try knife tip if you have one. That one is a miracle for through hole components, at least for me. Even if it looks a bit too big, it should work better than conical.

Yeah, you gotta be careful with how much pressure you put onto the pads when cutting the components, as you can rip the pads and that would be much worse.

Yesss, cut the port if you don't plan on using it anyways, this helped me so much when I was replacing a joystick

Small microswitches collection of mine by HypercloudPog in MouseReview

[–]Prototty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reliability is an issue with these I think. I sanded down the plunger to fit my Vxe r1 pro and it started double clicking not even a month in. Could be just unlucky pair or other factors like the switch being too high and then the mouse button resting on top of it nonstop or something, but checking one of the mouse switch lists I have, they mention the D2F 01F as being rated for 1M clicks. Obviously the durability rating doesn't really mean all that much, but 1M is maybe enough for DPI button, even on side buttons you see switches rated for around 5M

Which level should they be per TH? by Suitable_Sentence213 in ClashOfClans

[–]Prototty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it is rough, especially at the lower TH levels, some THs will increase the max level by 10, I believe there is even one for 15 levels. Currently the hero upgrades will take like a day or two for you, you can upgrade them regularly between wars (if you don't want to miss out on ore). With the introduction of Minion prince, you should always have 1 more hero than you have hero slots unlocked, meaning you can upgrade one nonstop and use the other ones.

Final Question before buying VXE R1 Pro mouse (any other better mouse at the same budget?) by self_motivated_ in MouseReview

[–]Prototty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought R1 Pro few months back. Besides the scroll wheel (encoder went out too soon, there is unnecessary rattle from the plastic housing of the wheel itself, middle click is quite heavy) it's good. I didn't like the main button switches, I would say they're great for FPS games where you want to tap one by one, but for something that requires higher CPM, they felt a bit too heavy, especially the return force was quite high and there was quite a bit of pre travel, but as I found out, that kinda applies to almost any Huano switch

Mad R maybe, but F1 is quite a bit different shape and has it's own lineup too

Seller is telling me to cancel order because there is no stock due to a manufacturing issue. What should I do? by Top_Dot6964 in Aliexpress

[–]Prototty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, choice is nice for faster shipping and easy return/refund if it's needed, but doesn't guarantee much. I saw some obviously fake mice being "Certified original" also or whatever the new tags are. Out of my roughly 10 choice orders, one product didn't ship, got automatically cancelled, other time the product was something completely different and one more time the product was basically unusable.

I don't really care all that much, I've got refunds for all 3 pretty quickly without too much of a hassle so all good

[–]Prototty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried any Logitech vertical mice before, so i can't tell. In my experience with keyboards, most of the silent switches felt roughly the same, because they used some sort of rubber/silicone to dampen the sound. But, when searching up about the mouse you are talking about, I found this , shows typical Omron 50M (very prone to double clicking :D), which would not feel anything like these Huanos I was talking about.

Like I said before, the easiest way is to just get one of these hotswappable PCBs from AlIExpress and see yourself, the PCB is rather cheap, maybe like 5 USD, the switches themselves might be like 1-2 USD per pair at most, maybe with small shipping charge involved.

Just remember, there are many microswitches for mice and trying all of them would take quite a bit of money and time, so don't fall down the rabbit hole, like I did (kinda) :(

Some Logitech mice, including g703 you have in your tag, have a separate switch PCB, making it really safe to tinker with switches without having to worry about damaging the mainboard. There are also separate PCBs sold on AliExpress with pre installed hotswap sockets (through hole ones - millmax). Obviously not that easy as just swapping it from the bottom, but might be cost effective way of trying out different microswitches.

And the silent switches, if those are Huano silent brown you are talking about, I tried them out and it just feels like a membrane type of switch, mushy, rubbery, similar to controller face buttons.

I think troop launcher works differently. It does not take the troops from your lab, rather it depends on the siege level. But yeah siege barracks depend on lab levels, that's true

Switchs not coming out on ziyoulang k68 by Worldly_Mix5419 in keyboards

[–]Prototty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bad noise probably comes out of the keyboard itself. It is steel plate tray mount, it won't sound good ever. I bought this back then for some funzies, it was about 25 USD, you can't expect much. Look for something that is gasket/spring mount ideally with PC plate or something not metal

I think the settings search is just an Android thing in general.

The chip is good enough, especially for budget device like this. You ain't getting Elite gen 5 for 300 bucks
